Just the idea of you thinking about my suicide because of a game...bringing it into this discussion...talking about depressions. wtf ? o_O You never wrote you want me leave ? Here you write "...you really hate this game we see so just go away..." http://www.entropiaplanets.com/threads/m-a-r-i-o-v-r-instance-on-planet-cyrene.11314/ I never said no one should visit another planet. But if Jamiras opinion is "it is not worth visiting it"..man.. it is his opinion. Where is the problem ?
True, I didnt want this to become Beladcoms 1st experience. Still, constructive criticism, comments about how someone likes or dislikes a new planet should be no problem in here. Beladcom should know how and what we think about their planet. It might be hard at times, but should not become unfair !
Theoden has also a lot of shops, shares, hores with riders ect, that is why he became target in the first place. Their are a lot of messages in the clip, if you aware you notice it.
Indeed McC constructive criticism is not a problem at all, in fact we want you to do so. This discussion just feels a little to personal for a thread like this and has less and less to do with Toulan and more about who said what and why.
Nice list, you have that stuff because you love the game and you love the people(your society as well as others in the community) I feel the same way and would not have the things I do in the game If I felt poorly towards it. Fact is I spend considerably more time and effort inside the game than I do on this forum, and I'm a part owner in it. I have been excited about Toulan for a long time, and although I haven't been able to make it there yet, am still excited to go and explore having heard both sides of the coin.
You may be right, Razer. But there is nothing what attracts me. Nothing what would attract other longterm (regular depositing) colonists I am afraid. I don't see a glory future for Toulan. Same drama as we can see with all other planet partners. That was my point. Next Island is dead already. NEVERDIE is in doubt about Rocktropia and diminished it already. Cyrene didn't start really so far ... it's still in so called "soft launch". Calypso's moon Monria is abandoned meanwhile ... as expected. Arkadia ... hmmm ... dunno. Probably Arkadia is the only one that can survive. But I doubt in Calypso itself meanwhile. Let's be serious. Toulan has no chance.
I like it too. Although I was expecting more ... but it won't survive. No need to care for. It'll be abandoned soon.
Me and my sis visited this new world. We had both positive feelings toward it. Beta or not ... Toulan has no chance to become a successful part of EU. A pretty appeareance is not enough. And the appeareance isn't that overwhelming so far. Cyrene is way better. The visit at Toulan was the point for my sister to backpedaling. That was yesterday. She already lose all trust in MA. Today she started sellout. I don't like it. But it is the result of visiting Toulan.
Just use the time to hunt for Ultimate EntropiaTransport.com. Don't waste your time with Toulan. Or if you are interested in you may also spend some time at Ancient Greece. It's comparable. Looks nice and is pretty useless except for vacation purposes.
Thats how we feel. It is our opinion. And our opinion should be respected just like everyone else's opinion. As mentioned, I enjoyed old Greece for about 1 hour. This time travel thing sounded interesting, even if I had a bad feeling about it in the beginning already. I never visited NI again. The main reason I flew to NI was, a free colorator and the noob pistol. And an axe and a sword, which rust in storage now. :p Maybe it is the diversity factor, maybe the size of this universe is way too big for approx. 2000 daily participants already. I also SEE no reason to fly to Toulan, just to SEE some arabian 3d buildings. The ogre looked fun though, but thats defenitly not enough for me. I dont even feel the urge to collect an aladin lamp or the arabian rifle to decorate my avatar (or my storage). And I AM a collector of fancy items since 2004.This "planet" did not attract me at all. Screenshots and videos didnt make me curious. And SEEing deserted places like NI, Cyrene, Monria or RT might even emphasize the whole situation. (its been this way since years btw.) Back in 2004 it was a different feeling, having the same 100 people around you all the time. We were a big family.
Jesus, Uzza, instead of wasting your time disliking every single post of mine, why not contribute some words to all these threads ? Dont you have to say something about it as well ? Something like "I dislike all of your posts, McCormick because...it doesnt reflect my opinion..." or something like that. You dont even answer my private messages. Feel free to put me to ignore then btw. Might save you a lot of time. I really would like to hear your opinion about the whole situation though. Toulan, MindArk, deserted planets, why you dislike my words etc. Please, join the "discussion". I couldnt care less about likes and dislikes. I enjoy writing here, no matter what the response will be. But just clicking dislike all the time feels so...characterless. But sure, it is way easier to click dislike, then wrapping your thoughts in words. Maybe you think Im getting repetetive ? Feel free to put me to ignore... Still, feel free to continue as you (dis)like. And sorry for going offtopic again. -_-
Well from what I'm reading and seeing people have mixed views on Toulate. I suspect however for some it sounds like Toulate was a bitter pill to swallow when they were hoping for chocolate ice cream. For myself I feel largely indifferent and for that I feel lucky. I think maybe what some were hoping for with Toulate was what I was hoping for with Cyrene. OK I admit I can't really criticise as I have not been to Cyrene but yes, I'm still waiting for the "hard launch" - the one with all the website and merchandising and mega hype and film tie ins and so on and so forth. The one that would justify a development team the size of my school leavers photo*** ;) .... I suspect that this is probably a little like waiting for the 2nd coming though so I stopped holding my breath for fear of asphyxiation. Personally I never expected Toulate to show at all after last year's exciting releases of nothing after nothing then not even a Christmas address from the Queen. I thought notice of receivership of EU was probably more likely given how quiet MA have gone. So we have Toulate now, that's nice and it sounds like MA/whateverthecalypsocompanyiscallednowcauseIhonestlycan'trememberanymore (was it FPC?) are working on some sort of creature inhabiting system. Who knows? Maybe they read my post from years ago on how such a system could work? I guess only time will tell.... or maybe it won't. As for Toulate, I'm a little confused about how 1 server area can be considered "a planet" but ho hum "its in beta yadda yadda ya,,,," like Cyrene or all those other games out there than now start charging people for an alpha product that will never be finished. TBH this is probably a good thing. I've been thinking since Christmas if instead of new planets MA should be doing more Monria's... but instead of putting them in space they should be more like "fully customisable land areas/server squares on existing planets" i.e. small teams can approach MA and say, hey I want to make an area on Calypso/Next Island/Rocktropia etc with my own set of missions and mobs and landscape and buildings. Essentially outsource the content development with MA looking on and having the final say. They do anyway from the sounds of things. But yeh, back to Toulate. OK so a small team of devs made a low detailed crysis level (I don't mean it looks like Crysis I mean you could compare the area/development to a crysis level in terms of achievement) with a few interesting items. Let's just remind ourselves what a Crysis level looked like > . Well I guess that is ok. It gives me another place to pootle along to when I'm done with Monria (which sadly I think will be quite soon) - I can't complain really. Maybe smaller space and more content packed in would be a good thing. I guess only time will tell Wistrel *** Don't worry I know that not all those people worked full time on Cyrene, they were drafted at different times for different parts from Creative Kingdom.
@ Wistrel ... I think except for Toulan, there won't be anymore full-sized planets ... and the Monria idea, wasn't actually MA's idea at all, but rather a PP's idea. I'll reserve my comments for after Obie and I take our trip to Toulan to do some exploring, but I agree with you Wistrel, the feedback so far is quite mixed. I've been watching live streams, viewing other videos and looking at photos, besides checking out all the data collected, and I think they have a good theme, however ... I really hope they follow through with storyline, because the beginning was a good start with the cartoon PDF's that they presented us with, and I also hope that they don't fall too far behind with delivering things that will help the economy, because even a week waiting for basic stuff isn't good. I wish them every success, but if history has taught us anything, it's not all up to the PP.
Good points ms9. Imagine any other product in the world. You would make sure that your initial visitors were gold and that they came and stayed and had a reason to. Sure it is ok for folks to pootle over there and go "hmm this is nice" explore a bit, realise they can't seriously exist/trade or have enough content to keep them going and leave going "yeah that was ok" and go back to playing on Calypso. Interesting it was a PP who suggested an outpost model like Monria. I like Monria. It's small, contained and I feel like I can "do it", much like Thule. I think you can pack a lot into one crysis level ;) I hope Monria will squeeze as much content as possible into that one tile. I also hope that Thule will be properly finished off! It should be 1 square of densely packed story driven awesomeness. Its sorta only half a square at the moment.... with crinkly edges... Wistrel
seems like a pretty nice planet. Haven't visited yet since I can't afford to deposit at the moment (and probably not for forseeable future since it looks like we are getting a nice little addition to our family irl real soon), so I'll stick with Rocktropia for now where I can play for free for now. Even if the oil rig in the thing only pays out about 6 cents an hour, it is enough to do one minor repair on the viper whip, which gest me about 2 blocks of rocktropians to kill...enough that over a few trips back and forth I can do one click on the creative juice remix bp. So far other planets have not created a 'freebie' option like that yet, or if they have, it's overpopulated like Caly's little rig is... and no other planet has 2 hp mob that I'm aware of. If Toulan does, where are they?
