Seems like a positive and hopeful state of the universe. I like that we have an influx of new players and can't wait to see what more advertising brings to EU's future.
Actually what i've seen is long time players taking their time to rebut a self serving propaganda statement from Mindark, who seems more intent on sucking their present cows dry than actually doing anything to attract new users. They give us shit like: Tell you what, it would talk 200-300 noobs on the $15 - $20 monthly plan for 12 months to equal what they lost over the last year since I alone stopped depositing in this shithole. So what do they base the +57 % on? last year. Where are the numbers? Every other MMO loves to brag their numbers...but EU is down to talking about % of new depositors and no mention of lost depositors? Show some numbers Mindark or I call bullshit. This game is on the downward spiral, and nobody wants to talk about that. The emphisis is on draining as much as they can as fast as they can. Translates to me like 1 more way after CLD's to get the sheep to deposit more for a few meaningless perks. What you call a whiner Airboy, I call a person awake to the reality. Seems your only move is cry "whiner, whiner.." like a guy out of arguments... Trust me...MA don't need you defending them...it's too late...what they need is a) a miracle....or b) new leadership and a direction, and a minor miracle. Otherwise, the ending of this story is gonna be ugly.
Prob' my last post here on EP... Is he kidding? It still takes up to 4 hours to download the client depending on your connection. The pre-calypso starting area is a joke. How can an NPC be a teleport? It is still far too difficult for a new player (without skills, etc) to progress in the game; to get the first few TP's, etc. You can't even update your account info without issue! Heck!
So... what are you basing that on? Your own disappointment or what? No the game is not "on the downward spiral", but yes, it's have been stuck and have not really taken off since the VU10 update and the different planet partner concept have had some "problems" with planet and planet partners that don't have done so well. The funny thing, or the sad thing, is that the planet that is most similar to Calypso, Arkadia, is the one that have had most succees. You do also understand that MA are loosing money, so of course they need a solution that brings in more money. And to say that MA don't want to spend resources to bring in more players and increase the playerbase is just stupid, of course they want, it's their ultimate goal.
lol. I actually wrote an essay explaining all the ways MA and Kim have managed to destroy this game... Then realized it doesn't really matter... MA don't listen.....Kim doesn't listen.... FUCK it...who cares... you win big boy...I'll shut my mouth and watch it implode... Just remember...I told you so.
The other day I realised that I've been part of EU for over 12 years, being one of the first 5000 colonists that signed up to the Commercial Open Trial in December 2001. Version 3.0 seems a very long time ago now! So I do ask myself the simple question, why am I still here? So I've seen opinions ebb and flow about how long EU can last. Everything from whether it's a bubble economy or it's a scam or casino etc...MA secrecy was well entrenched by the time I joined, I don't think that's going to change, whilst the habits of hyperbole and over-optimism seems to be something that won't die out. My personal view is that it will probably carry on. There are enough vested interests in the game to want it to survive. Players with large accumulations of items and wealth. Plus it's still quite a unique concept with the real cash economy. It will probably attract people, who will be curious to try it and see what's what. Perhaps a PP will get really successful in the future. Whose to say, predicting the future is generally a mug's game. Having said that I finally decided in December year to liquidate pretty much everything and withdraw the cash. All my CLD's, TT a load of stuff, sold a lot of my gear. There were a number of reasons for it. The main one was the risk of having a lot of wealth tied up in EU, 100K+ peds is a lot of cash that was in a very high risk investment. Seeing the CLD's slowly decline in terms of ROI certainly made me think it was time to get out of the market whilst prices were still good. The last financial statement was also worrying for me. The second is that I wanted to play EU as a game, rather then just use it as an investment vehicle. So withdrawing helps reset the balance. My plan is to explore the planets and do some of the professions that I started out in EU, namely mining. If you take EU as a casual game, a couple of hours a week is perfectly fine. I tend to play EU when doing other things on the computer, so it's good to fill in gaps. Do a spot of mining, TT the stuff, buy more bombs and carry on. Perhaps hunt in between mining doing some of the low end missions. On the whole the strategy is working and with that casual perspective EU works quite well.
lol...I wrote pages....then re-read it many times...then deleted it. It's all been written many times many ways by many others, and better quite frankly. :) ....waste of time. I have my reasons for thinking how I do....I just find myself not caring much anymore. I'll share my personal favorite though. :) I stopped playing last March. October I weakened a bit decided to make a depo and do some gambling...er mining. ;) The system would not accept my ppd visa. tried a ppd mastercard same thing. The cards are fine, had a friend try to depo with one of them and it worked fine.I know exactly what the problem is, it happened a few years ago and was fixed in a week. This time apparently there are no "deposit team members" available to look at my case...lol This was the last response I got from support.... January 2 2014....and I wait. The answer is when you use ppd gift cards, even when you delete them from your account, the are still linked. Someone has to remove the old numbers...apparently they have no team member available for the 10 minutes that would take....last time it took a week...I want to see now if we can hit a year...I wouldn't put 10 more cents into this shithole now... Oh and yes for the fanboi's I should just sell out and leave...I'd have to be able to deposit to buy ESI's...I bet even the biggest MA ass suckers out there can see the problem....LOL Back in the old days deposit issues were usually dealt with quickly...but hey I only deposited probably 5K-7k u.s a year for 6-7 years and burned it up mining, paying the ubers rent...why should that be important...lol Pretty sure they have alot on thier plate trying to figure out more scams like CLD's to suck as much quick capital out of the plyer base before the bankruptcy...lol I don't regret my time in EU by the way...I had some good times...but MA is doing their best to drive away the people who actually paid the bills, and attract the WOW crowd....god bless em...enjoy your bankuptcy MA you earned it.
You'd think that support requests about depositing money would be a high priority for them. So I take it's been two months and still no news? I sometimes wonder what the 49 people at MA Group actually do sometimes....
Yep...that reply above was the last I heard from them. Jan 2 2014. I used to find it ironic and funny when I received their automated email about account inactivity....considering....now it just reminds me of their inactivity on this support case.
Think they're spending all their time doing Reservoir Dogs impressions and playing Table Football ;-) http://www.mindark.com/company/office/
TBH ... I am not really interested in whatever MA suggest, promise or whatever ... They are not reliable. Project Entropia was a great offer. MA couldn't manage to improve it. They fucked all PP, fail with their own planet/moon. Time to leave ...
hahaha I'd never seen those images but Az nailed it with the Reservoir Dogs impressions. I kinda want to play them at table football now. If they win, I'll know why we still can't sit down again in game yet.
Just had to say....I actually got a reply finally on May 15/ 14 and they finally found a person that could do what I asked for back in Nov...delete all the cards on my account...then they asked me to test it by making a deposit...ya right....I'd rather give my nuts a spin in a blender at this point than deposit $1 in this corrupt, rotting shithole..But thanks MA the quick response...LOL
