Some of what I have seen of these new super-natural and natural horror meets sci-fi reminds me of some of the older Dr.Who series.

Agreed, grew up to Dr.Who, StarTrek and others more recent Red Dwarf, BSG, SG, etc to give cultural diversity between UK & US style productions.

Youngens these days, no offense, but so much was derived from the early day Sci-Fi productions in recent past EPICs.
