OK short memory time but what has happened in the past 9 months?

We got the chat update... (nearly a year late) we got a bunch of fixes to the chat update. We got a lot of broken things fixed and of course more things were broken along the way as usual. We got the Creature Control Pill update but only about 12 have been looted so that was a waste of time. Er anything else? Do we really believe there even WILL be anything else this year? I was skeptical from the start, I'm almost certain now.

edit: MA also hosted a number of cash grabs through the starter kits (ok this was asked for), stable sales, Crumpet Deeds and the "invest to win more" Epic Moment competition

  2. Massive server infrastructure upgrade. Seems to have help with many lag issues.
When did Monria launch? That was MA rather than a PP effort.
Some more tools provided to PPs, eg ability to deal with avatars causing problems at events. ability to control spawns (yes caly already had this but the capability has been expanded to other PPs).
Portable TT/Repair consoles may be within that timeframe
    Melee amps finally launched.

Tools to PP's? Well that is nice. I mean but really they should have had the ability to control mob spawns already!! I were a PP I'd :@~*&%&^'ing well write that for them (assuming a PP can do this), send 'em the source code and ring them every day until they added it to the code base!

Melee amps and portable repair/TT? What the, I didn't know these were added!! Thanks for the heads up

True Monria was a MA model set but not all was done by them. Jamira did the apartments for starters.

ya with the PP tools. One would think that would have been part of the license. Actual control of your planet features. Makes no sense how little control the PPs had to start. Makes even less sense why they would have actually started with such lack of controls.

Quite... I mainly feel sorry for ND. Would be interesting to know how many people approach MA about PP package and how many run for the hills when they see it.

  6. I think we have all known that there has been an imbalance in the degree of dynamic control available to Caly PP compared to other planet PPs. It's good that the issue has to some extent been addressed. And this has led to better event management across EU.

Melee Amps come in two varieties. Trauma amps add damage as we are used to with gun amps. Durability amps take on some % of the decay, extending the lifetime of the weapon. THis is similar to the L psion implants I guess. Melee weapon characteristics need to be adjusted to allow use with an amp. So you will never see amped NI weapons. On caly Eomon blood samples are trade with a broker in various combinations to get different trauma amps. On Ark we have now seen Dura amps starting to drop - not sure which mobs.

portable TT is a craftable L item that is produced from an L bp. I think the same is available for portable repair consoles.

And of course we now have the very recent announcement of the return of taming in the next PP release (early October).

Hmm interesting reading...., I guess it seems Amps are kinda the territory of the more expensive these days. I guess this is deliberate as a101's used to drop all the time on low end mobs. I suspect it sorta makes sense to make them rare drop items or items that are only available to people with enough skills to take on an Eomon.

give me more weapons to use, not amps to make the current ones more expensive... I mean really who has an amp on a RL blade. really...

Yes... it is a bit odd... but then again so is using a sword or knife. Still, if starwars can do it... I think ultimately a little creative licence is needed ;)

Odd? There's noting odd in EU...

"Earlier today I've inserted a chip into my head. Should help keeping the concentration when attacked by an animal while using MindForce to extract Vibrant Sweat from it. The chip uses Mind Essence as fuel but I lack Force Nexus to make. Luckily I know where to get Force Nexus (from PigBenis' mining videos). I spawn my spaceship, fill it with the last Oil I have and fly to the location. There I drop a few probes and bam: ample deposit of Force Nexus 557m under ground. My handheld Extractor has enhancers on each slot, so the energy matter is extracted within seconds. Great, performing this completely dull job I even made it to another full level of Intelligence. Force Nexus and Vibrant Sweat in the refiner, push the button and there we go: Mind Essence. Finally, everything in place to try out the chip. I use the chip, with Mind Essence in my inventory it works like a charm. I quickly run to the next animal: a dog sized dinosaur with six legs and an elephant's trunk. From the distance I start extracting Vibrant Sweat from it. I've only sweated 5 years non-stop, so my Sweat gathering skills are not as great as MegaVolt's and Akbar's but that doesn't... oh, fuck. The beast attacks! And squeals like a pig! But guess what, the chip carries out its duty, I keep extracting sweat until it's dry. No water nearby, no chance to drown it. So I start shooting at the creature, 25 shots from close distance with my laser pistol and it's dead. OMG, swirlies, it drops Animal Eye Oil and a full TT Face Sculpting Chair! I'm excited, got to post that global screenie on PCF. Or wait, I'll do that later, always wanted to change my eye color. I fly to the next teleporter on my Old Witches Broom and teleport. Finally at my apartment (they still haven't fixed the display area...), I place the Face Sculpting Chair next to my Black Leather Armchair (C) (it's Snablesnot leather texturized and colored red by @leeloo - not cheap!). I take a seat on my new toy and sculpt around a little bit in my face. Damn, almost forgot the time, I have a ticket for a Highest Single Loot event starting in 20 hours and before I wanted to visit the Mission Broker to get an amplifier for my knife! If I only could remember what Eomon Blood Samples I need in exchange for the amp, but... I read that on EP wiki... fuck, why is stuff so hard to find there..."

  13. And your point? That's all logical? But an AMP on a melee weapon?:shots:

    Ah... when you put it like that : ) : ) : ) = )

Incidentally I wrote fictional some articles on sweat once to try and give it some sense in the universe. They can be found in TCP magazines. One was a brief history of sweat that had 2 parts and the other was an RDI report on how it was discovered to have beneficial properties.

I felt someone should try and explain it ;)

  17. Leaving aside for a moment the realism issues (I'm carrying a space capable aircraft and several weapons in my backpack, what about you?)...

Melee Amps have been asked for by the user base for a long time because, without them, most looted L melee weapons are TT food and crafted L melee weapons aren't worth making as the cost to craft forces the sales price point well above a value that is eco for the hunter. Introduction of melee amps is a real boon to people who want to melee hunt but cant afford the UL blades. Now we just need a supply that doesn't need you to kill eomon, ::rolls eyes::

Exactly my point Kikki. Fix the problem, don't make the solution a way of spending more money. Fix the blades, make them a better fit. Maybe upgrade crafting to allow for the crafter to change attributes around in blades/guns. And be careful with that aircraft, if it opens while in your backpack your going to need a new set of knees!

  19. Melee Amps increase dpp. The Trauma variety also increase dps, which should result in reduced defensive costs, reduced impact from high regen mobs. Players will be able to spend less money for the same amount of damage. I can't see how this is a bad thing. Melee users and crafters have been asking for this feature for as long as I have playing.

From a purely selfish point of view I would also like to see some craft-able amps be released.
