Caly needs a "Coordinator of Lore" ie someone employed to bascially become an expert on everything they have in game and where it fits in to the overall story + if it doesn't fit, MAKE it fit.

Alas I don't think there is money for a role like that. If there is, I'm available very cheap ;)

But there were offers enough to MA during the past few years to do exactly such things for free from the community. I offered them to optimize 3D-models. The designers were sometimes a bit careless regarding the number of verticees and faces. Wich means: more lag for folks with not so good machines. They refused. Best example were the Monria apartments. Akoz told me MA set a limit of 40k faces per tower (... or was at 40k faces for both of them? Cannot remember ...). I spent a lot of time in reaching this goal without making them ugly or useless. Finally I kept the 40k limit. Later my sister Kristin checked the Building at Medusa's Head (keep in mind: one Monria tower = 48 standard apartments + 6 luxury suits with pool at a second floor vs. 24 apartments in total at Medusa's Head). And guess what! The building at Medusa has more than 400k faces! Just a significant example of what they missed so far.

Atm I live at Skyrim. Bethesda launched the game in 2012 and let it as it was. One official patch came later to fix some (not all) bugs. But they offered a developer kit to the community. And since than the community improved small and really big parts of the game in an unbelievable way. You may play Skyrim in a dozen different ways today by installing the regarding mods. Well, it isn't online and it isn't a RCE game. So MA couldn't do the same for EU, because several mods have deep impact to the ingame economy in Skyrim. But they could accept a lot of other offers. Not via mods but just improvements sent to Gothenburg, checked and correctly implemented by MA if possible.
    • improved textures
    • improved 3D-models
    • new 3D-models (vehicles, clothes, weapons, buildings - even landscapes)
    • new sounds
    • story-telling
    • etc.
I think that's the point McCormick is aiming at. MA may be a small company with limited abilities and they did really good jobs sometimes - as MS9 mentioned above. But once they've had a wide positive community they didn't use or weren't abel to see the massive potential of this community. I am pretty sure, if they had accepted help from the community - say starting in 2005 - they would have been overwhelmed by a knock-on effect. Would also have been no big deal to implement a cute small reward system for help from players. We currently have exactly this for the judges in WoF 2014. They could even ask for special help: new textures or models for deeds ;-) They would have been showered with suggestions and models and textures. A small step for a man, but a big step for mankind.

That'd take some time, though. There's a lot of unfinished business.
