    Support ticket - they are actually pretty nice... they are like thirsty men drowning in a sea of unspecified bollocks. If you take the time to tell them what happened, how, how to reproduce so on and so forth, essentially just a support case that is actually useful to someone they leap up and down like happy children!

    OK I exaggerate but my strategy of reporting bugs does seem to have paid off over the last 4 or 5 months. Certainly a few things have been fixed

    If I would be the only one, because of some graphic driver issue or an incompatible operating system...or if it woudl be easy to reproduce...or an too old software problem...Id be ready to write a ticket to support, asking for help.

    But I cant write a support ticket everytime I CTD on random places or because of random acts by others.
    The "Automatic Error Report" flooded them already.
    Im not alone.

    Tried 3 different machine setups, but all nvidia.

    Desktop + GTX 670 (Win7), 2nd Desktop (Win8.1) + GTX 470 and even a 2009 laptop, using a GTX 7800m, tend to crash for no reason.
    Even on mid, low terrain settings. Else the game runs great. (newest drivers, yes)

    What do the ATi users say out there ?

    I haven't had a CTD, in some time. Using AMD 7970 desktop (win8.1) and a laptop with AMD 7900m (win 7). Even through Halloween mayhem.

    Omg fix the fooking (nvidia) ctds....terrain quality is at lowest...jesus... !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!111

    older and newer drivers fail after a certain amount of time or just randomly.

    Sorry McCormick but these issues will not be fixed anytime soon. So you are just going to have to get use to it like the rest of us :) But for me, I don't have as many issues here on Arkadia. Seems more on Calypso at the time.

    I heard a rumour from someone, passed on from someone on the Ark dev team that some CTD's are caused by sound but they don't know what. They recommend playing with no sound to avoid CTD's.

    Yep there was a time when this was the exact cause. I thought they fixed it, but maybe it has worked its way back again.

    I always thought it had something to do with the texturing being miss placed. The most I run into a crash now is with the new shops on Arkadia with all the new unoptimized graphics used for the shop decoration?

    But yes I do remember the sound issue as well.

    Haven´t played with sound on for at least 5 years, probably only game I play totally muted.

    Haven´t had CTD for a couple of months now on I5+ATI+Win7 config

    Feel for you McCormick.
