My guess would be that she did the CES spot for them in trade for the plug. TV works like that lots of the time.

Mostly correct. CW gets pretty low ratings in the US compared to the other network morning shows. However, a little press can't be all bad, even if it is self-promotion on the part of a Next Island owner.
