Does anyone know if resources will be trade-able between planets? Maybe basic filters will be used in the "Wren's Extreme Axe" BP (made up BP) that drops only on Rocktropia and Inter-Planetary Ships (whos says the local ship can make the journey all the way to RockTropia) will be loaded with goods from Calypso that are sorely needed on Rocktropia. Maybe "Mysterium" (I want credit for this name if it is used) only found on Next Island is used in a BP that will drop for Calypso. I mean I really the universe to work this way because if they integrate the worlds like this it truly will be a Universe. And the game of my dreams that I always wanted to create and play. Well at least I get to play it, even if it is expensive at times. I am holding my breath that it will work this way. I hope I don't pass out.
Well, that is THE question atm - there are countless opportunities when it will be possible, but then again, we don't know what it costs to hop from planet to planet - 100 peds per transfer and you will very likely stay on "your" planet for more than just a day... and comparing this to the prices on "transfer to CP/CND", i'D say 100 ped is a bargain... However, i think people hype the new planets beyond any measure - there will be very likely no "uber armor dropping like candy" period - MA has chosen it's path and the items will follow the "(L) or very high TT" pattern.
I dont see any reason why not. If we can get the same materials from astroids and a dome thing in the sky, I see no reason why you wont be able to transfer via different planets. My question is will the trades be linked interplanetarily. Like being able to choose which planet may have the items you are looking for if your planet is otherwise dry. I would assume MA would charge a shipping charge just like from the Space outposts to the planet.
i think this would be a great opportunity to create a genuine economic system with traders and travelers moving ores and other materials to where they are needed, with BPs only able to use machines on certain planets. but i expect MA will just do some hash up, you'll probably be able to craft a BP anywhere and the base materials will be found everywhere, prehaps a few token "unique" materials per planet.
I still think it would make seriously thriving economy even if MA did the 'hash up'. I wouldn't mind the machince on any world being able to use any BP. Because I feel as if the transit fee would balance this out. I am probably not going to Planet hop as much as I hope.
I have said it before but I can not imagine it is going to work like this. All the planets are seperate companies. They just rent "space" on the platform MA is maintaining. If a resource drops on only one planet and is used on the other this means a companies income could be based on the number of users on a different planet (company). If you go to a bank and tell them you want to borrow money to set up a new planet and you tell them you will only pay them back if another companys marketing is good enough because your income is dependant on the number of users there I'm pretty sure you are not going to get that loan. The key in this whole deal is MA changed their buisness model. FPC is a seperate company running planet calypso. MA is just maintiaining the platform to run the planet.
Not intertwining the planets would either result in fail or diminish the possible success a lot! I am pretty sure of that. My reasoning behind this: - normally new players are attracted by a game by some single prominent factors, now different planet partners can cater to different audiences thus widening the influx stream of new accounts - normally a player will change over time and crave for new things, usually this results in searching a new game and leaving the old, now one can just go to a different planet Not intertwining the planets will result in diminishing both points hugely. Just one of many possibilities is if you even need resources from different planets maybe we would soon see space pilots as traders become an interesting reality. And there are so much more possibilities, cannot believe MA would just miss out on them... but well we will see.
well I'm not sure how the business model of MA looks now but I believe MA will get their money regardless of how many players are in the universe. They just rent out their platform to companies like FPC. The other planet company's might make deals with each other for transfer of good between planets and I hope they do. But I don't thnk it is a must.
