I am curious, what do people think about the recent announcement from google. Moreover, do you think it would be better to endure censorship and try to provide a good (well, as good as possible under the given circumstances) information platform so china won't complete cut-off from the rest of the world or say "g'bye, that's been it" to set an example? And last but not least: How will this affect MAs plans for the future?
A block on google? I think the reason MA brought the introductions of "worlds" honestly is due to China. I think there will be "Planet China" and the citizens will be unable to leave. I am guessing people will be allowed in to "Planet China," but only after they agree to things that would normally be privacy violations like watching your private conversations and what not. Ontop of that if you are found guilty of breaking any of their rules, you get banned from coming back. This is atleast my conspiracy theory:p
Google Motto is do no evil. Are they helping China oppress or trying to alieve the oppresion? If they are leaving because by having their systems in place and supporting the censor make it easier to oppress the chinese people then good. If they are doing this because their market share in china is low and they want to boost their image it in the rest of the world....neutral? We really don't know the details of the hack except that the hackers were after Humanitarian workers local and abroad.
The business of Google is not only to spread informations but also they offer services to companies. Becoming hacked would affect the bottom line of Google a lot :P
is the correct answer. Hotmail and Yahoo have previously been hacked from other countries, you dont see them pulling out.
I believe there will an be an extremely limited ability to interact with any of the common "public" China citizens there. No chat options ect, Of coarse we will be able to freely spend money there ;)
Or maybe one will have to accept to be hold accountable on the legislative grounds of China and only people from countries which agreed to an extradiction contract with China will be allowed to visit there xD
I doubt that would happen, They will just have the same type of filter that EF has .. Every other sentence will ****** and ***** then some ****
