Mass Effect 2 Preview Game Developer: Bioware Type: Role playing & First person shooter Content: Adult (not only in theme but intelligence) Release date: North America 26/1/2010 & Europe 29/1/2010 Platforms: PC & Xbox360 This game was introduced to me by a friend. I havent as yet played the first one or the sequel whose release is imminent. After checking out the launch website for this game I must say Im quite impressed it seems to hit all the qualities that I look for in a game i.e. storyline, action, something deeper than the normal, special effects etc From looking at the video previews of this game I can see that personally Im probably going to love this little gem. Also I cant seem to stop comparing the launch of this game against the new planet partners for EU. Being an RCE we really do get zero information, whereas with the launch of this game we get pretty much everything upfront. This is quite refreshing to see. There are 12 short videos which explain the story fairly well. As well as give some background info, I highly recommend watching these: http://masseffect.bioware.com/media/video/328 While Im not going to go into all the information talked about in the videos I would mention there are some unique qualities for this game that makes this game under rated. For example if anyone who played the first Mass Effect game the second game gives you the option to makes use of your game completed stats. So if a character had died in the first game he would not be available in the second. I dont think any game has ever made use of this data to essentially carry the story through seamlessly into the sequel.
I for one can't wait for this game. I enjoyed the first one, but the combat need to be reworked just a little bit to make the game flow a little bit better. The first then they announced is how they completely reworked the combat to make it more like an FPS. So if you find the control a little clunky in the first one I don't think it will be a problem in the second.
Apparently they left out a few bits in the first one due to time constraints but in the second one they have made sure all that was left out is in place. That's what my friend said ;) but I'll wait until I see the game.
getting oldish this thread, just wanted to express my deep appreciation of this game's world, atmosphere, storyline, and characters.
