As you all have heard the Olympics have started and right before the start we already had a fatal accident in the bobsleigh track. A Georgian athlete died while doing a training run. He flew out of the track and hit a concrete pillar. The track will now be changed and some plastic walls will be put at the sport he crashed for the race tomorrow. I was planning to post the video here, but as it might shock a lot of you I am not. For those who are interested in the video, take a look here: http://nos.nl/os2010/video/136339-de-crash-van-koemaritasjvili.html
Holy shit. Damn thats just horrible.. Pretty major mistake in the construction, but also a big mistake from the athlete..
I just realized that the link I gave is only viewable if you are in Holland. But if you search for it on youtube you will find it to. Yes, it is not a smart move to place those concrete pillars next to a 140 km/h track, but as I understand nothing has ever happened in that corner (there has happened plenty in the other parts of the track) and you only know if something is wrong with the track if something goes really wrong.
