I went to Next Island yesterday just hours after it was added to EU, and it is different with a capital 'D' from Calypso and ROCKtropia. Repair terminals and TT's are called Repair/Trade Papoo and Auction NPC's are calle Auction Papoo, which all look like monkeys . Below is a map that I did based on the in-game map, and a pic of some of the terminals.
I know what you mean... I can see how some younger participants might find them scary. At first I thought they were mobs because there were quite a few red-dots on the scope. It was only when I got closer that I I.D'd them as user terminals. I've also since discovered that the TP's shown on the map is not all of them - these are only the free one's; there are others that you have to find yourself just like on Calypso or Rocktropia, so it looks like I will have to do a revised Next Island TP map.
Is this one not on Calypso? Thought it was supposed to be between the two continents! Would that make it incontinent?
If you step-up onto any TP you get the usual map that comes up - if you click on the drop-down list top-right you see a list of destinations. Next Island is in that list, and it's a planet.
