Hobbit Land - that's what I think about when summer arrives and our things are blooming. It is the best time a yeah though, after a cold, frozen and extreme winter, which lasted half a year, and then spring comes with it's warmt and mercy. We have been working in the garden the last weekends whenever we could - though because of my late illness it wasn't possible for me to do that much. Today I fell better and we finished up a few things. Peter just finished up the little cosy terrasse in the corner of our garden, under the big apple tree. The tree normally gets big juicy apples, excellent for pies - but last year they were small and not good because of too much rain all summer. Peter cut down a lot of branches today to give it air and make sure we will get bigger apples. I love our new little corner. This morning we were sitting there with our coffee/tea and a fruit salad. I plantet the white flowers yesterday actually, and it shapes up very pretty. We have a huge vegetable garden - and I love it. The other years we had strawberries and potatoes, onions, carrots, leak, peas, tomatoes. We bought 3 sort of potatoes this year - and early sort and two late sorts, one asparagus (some special small delicious potatoes)... I asked Peter if we should plant them all and he said yes, not knowing I meant all the bags. Which meant, that afterwards there were no space left. Damn me haha .. Peter was whining *what about my corn, tomatoes, carrots, salad, ruccola, peas etc.* He had to dig out at the end of the vegetable garden lol - but on the other side of the strawberries I did leave a small room too - and already dug down the red and white onions and leak. The little white fence is one we put up last year and we planted three lilca trees next to it and also some small fruit bushes with different berries. That is what reminds me of hobbit land :-) At the end Peter had to dig outside the vegetable garden to get room for his potatoes and what not... Poor Peter lol This year I also managed to get my herb 'garden'. It's just some pots with lots of herbs in them - like parsley, pibeonions, dill, lemon balm, thyme, garlic and more. I just love it :) and I love Summer is near and I love Peter.
and this is why we live. Mother nature loves us. I can see her in the sun and in the air around the garden. That tea and and some fresh air should help anything. Peter I need a basket of potatoes and carrotts and some onions. Dont see any chickens but an egg or two would be nice. Going to have to tear up that grass as the years and the garden grows.
wow! you've got a really beautiful garden :) living healthy I see :) Don't forget to post pics of your labor's fruits :)
Thank you :) I can post pictures of the harvest yes :D We do feel lucky - though most of it is thanks to hundreds of hours of work *Looks at Peter*
Beautiful yard! And even better you seem to be getting the most you can from it. Mine here is still a blank slate of sorts aside from a small plot along the side of the house where we`ve grown tomatoes. But I hope to be growing more this year.
Potatoes, carroots, corn, apples... That's a nice garden. This reminds me a bit of the Three Bears who like picnics ;)
