Hooray for Mining!

  1. Yeah, so I stopped keeping track of everything, that just didn't seem that exciting. To put what's been going on in the simplest way I can, I got a car from doing a survey and so I'm very mobile in EU right now. I use it to get where I want and also to find fruit/stones/dung. I've found quite a bit of fruit, enough to sell and so I did. I also had quite a bit of luck in the last hour of playing last night, enough to get 10 ped from selling the stones I found. Then today I went mining...

I love mining, it's great. I'm just sad when I have to stop because the returns aren't big enough for me, at least the first run today was really good. I got about 200% return. So now I have my extractors and my refiners, I'm just using the rookie gear right now, so that doesn't count towards my value. The next run was minor loss, 13 pec, then the last one I did wasn't good at all, I'm still out in the middle of nowhere so I'm not sure how bad it is yet. :)

Anyway, I feel like I'm slowly making some progress getting back into the game. If I can afford to I'll switch to real mining gear instead of using the rookie stuff, hopefully then I can find a few finds that have an X in them. Currently I still have a small collection of every type of fruit and all the dung I've found (over 400 right now), all my stones I've sold. Anyway, I think that's pretty much all that's been going on, I'm such a loner. :) Perhaps eventually I'll have some group event I participate in, but for now I'm happy enough to be able to do some of my current favorite activity.

  2. i'll be glad to hear more about your mining experience and the gathering of items.
seems you know just what i want to learn^^ :tiphat:

  3. What exactly are you wanting to learn? Basically all I do is find a way to make some PED, this time around by walking and picking up stuff, and then go mining because that's what I enjoy doing. :) I have in the past done some healing, not sure if I'll go that way again but we'll see. If you're more into hunting I would recommend sweating more than stone hunting, you'll get some defensive skills and when you get some ammo and an opalo you can participate in a swunt which can be very eco.

  4. well i just want to get a taste of everything.and mining is something im hesitating to do cause it costs so much...i got the gear for armor and a gun and i have been sweating to get my skills up.
now im just looking onto whats next fo me:).

  5. Actually, with the rookie gear mining is really quite affordable. What I would recommend is get 10 PED for it, buy your extractors and rookie finders, 25 each of bombs and probes, find an area away from other people and go for a run. Make sure you spend some time learning how fast you run and check the radius of the finders to figure out how far apart you should drop. What I do is alternate between the two as I run, sometimes ores do well and other times enmatters, though there are times when both fail or both are good. Once you have the extractors doing small rookie mining runs is just 5 PED, which can be found usually within a 2 hour stone hunting period. Well, roughtly 5 PED, plus a few PEC to buy new finders.
