Last night I had a great time doing a flying tour with Thorns Rose in my Vtol, using PA New Arrivals as a starting point, and then going first to Notus on the south-western end of Eudoria and then onto Zephyrus, Athena Spaceport and Eos. We had great fun, and at times it was really funny, because some of the trees around these parts are so tall, and theres so many of them, that they can be a bit of a hazard! Somehow though, we managed to get to these places intact, although I did clip a tree or two on the way, and incurred some minor damage for which I will have to get a vehicle repair kit - but it still flies at the moment... By the end of our tour, it was nearly 6.am in-game time, at which point I had to log out of EU to do other things. Some ten minutes later, I went back in because I had the 'EU bug'; I find it addictive, and because it occured to me that although I had most of the TP's for Calypso, I hardly had any for the planet that I actually started on nearly two months ago, which was Next Island. The only one's I still had for NI, was Club NEVERDIE, Crystal Resort and the other few 'free' TP's that I had. One might ask, why did I go to Planet Calypso when I had so few TPs on Next Island. The reason was, that I wanted to get an aircraft to help get my TP's from the outset, but there were no flying vehicles showing in the auction, so I went to Calypso to try and get one there, not realizing that what was available in the auction was the same for where ever you were in EU... So, I decided to go to Next Island to get some more TPs there, and arrived at Crystal Resort from Eos a few moments later; then managed to find a clear area where I could spawn the Vtol. This was tricky in itself, beacuse there were so many rocks and things in the way, but eventually I found a clearing. I was soon back up in the sky, and then looked at a printout of NI to see which TP I would like to get next. For some reason, I chose to fly towards the ND 500 Raceway TP because it looked interesting on the map, even though it was by no means the nearest place to Crystal Resort ;). As I got nearer to the TP, I could clearly see that the raceway itself was vast in terms of the area it covered, and I started thinking that this could be a great place for car racing, although I don't have a road vehicle yet myself. Getting the TP was not too bad, as it's nice and open there with no trees in the way; then I got out of the Vtol to actually get the TP and add it to the list, before taking my first screenshot of the TP area. I was a bit 'miffed' that I didn't have something like a Valkyrie, as I really wanted to race along this raceway, but then I thought that maybe I could sort of fly along it if I was careful, and so I got back into the flyer and started doing just that - and it was really good. At one point I felt a bit like that Skalitor (don't know if I spelt that right...) character in that cartoon from yesteryear, who used to go along in his chariot just feet above the ground ;) I then stopped the Vtol near the top of one of the highest sections of the raceway and took another pic before carrying on even further. I then looked at the map again, and realized that there was another TP on the other side called ND 500 Raceway Market, so I simply just carried on following the track until I got near to it, and then had this fantastic view of an entire section of the raceway. By this time, I suddenly realised what the time was, and so decided at this point to leave EU whilst I still had enough brain cells left to log out properly without crashing my pc, but I had certainly had some fun, so it was all worth it... Till the next instalment.
Thanks ;) Without a map I would have been running blind hoping for the best, although they do say that all roads and rivers eventually lead somewhere :)
I always have enjoyed getting TP's. It's funny having someone newer than myself doing that, just glad you had a map!..LMAO! Thanks for your help also on getting the one's I needed too.
