WHAT IS HAPPENING HERE! Weird glitch at Hogglo Diablo.

I imagine it was some kind of lag test by entropia employees or an attempt to DDoS the game by players.

 

Tons of "free" skills, great loot and no TT decay if you flew up to 240(?) m

Some people made like 5-25 additional cheap hitpoints over the days, just sitting in their Quads and VTOLs, others gatherd 2k+ skills in piloting and the others were hunting fat hogglos gathering gazziliion evade/courage/athletics..and loot. :)

90% of the whole EU population was there (the 3 coordinates from the client loader). Only Argus pvp had less people and ofc no vehicles. The "ubers" were there.

Another event, perfectly tested prior release. x'D
This could still be an official MA-test, as it was still a nice amount of $ for them. (get the irony?) ;P

Those who are (partly) complaining and crying about it (like Taco on PCF) took part in it as well, but didnt loot the 100k, 23k etc.

If the diablos would still spawn, we would have had the 1st "died in front of computer screen" casualities already, as someone wrote in all chat there.

It was the 1st time the community came together at 2 places ingame. ;D
The usual insults and chit-chatting beeing a part of it. But 99% of the ppl did not have time to chat. xD

It was fun indeed and if this "space pilot skilling" should not have happened, MA will announce something around the lines :

a.) "Unexpected bad error happened while stress-testing, we are truly sorry!" ,-)
or
b.)"Server rollback, trololol" (knowing that the whole community will get enraged...but keep playing anyway)

c.)"Thanks for all the deposits and decay over the last 3 days...you morons ! :D"

d.)"Because of the great succes of the Hogglo Diablo, it will spawn again...as Mecha-Hogglo...you morons!"

e.)"Because of the great succes...blablabla...disabled turrets...blablabla...storyline fucked...blablabla 19:00 MA time a robot event with area damage will start...blablabla...and Garreth will also be there re-enabling the turrets for the community again...blablabla (but this time we will monitor it and use the banhammer!)

Feel free to check the client loader for updates, as you can do absolutely nothing about it.

Is anyone able to tell me what is happening here
It seems to look like the players wanted to build a robot of some kind a transformer to defeat the mutant blood lines of calypso so
now we have the colony working with the robots to defeat organic mutants

All in all this is an eye opener and some questions need to be raised about this event we need answers.

 

How did this earn them skills?

 

Hogglo Diablo does Area damage, just like those Event Mobs on Arkadia did.
But it got fixed on Arkadia.

Means, you and your VTOL recieved 1 damage everytime the hogglo attacked, while you were hoovering above it and you got dozens of (cheap) Pilot skills in exchange. Pilot skills = gain hitpoints.

 

I see, you got skills equivalent to the full damage even though it was split to 1 each VTOL? It's a shame I wasn't there too.

 

No idea how exactly skills were spread, but 1 hp per 40 minutes was close to realistic, if you havent had 300 hp already.
Then again idk what would happen if a 300hp avatar would just start space piloting...joda was buying space spilot skills @4k% at the area.

No, tho hogglo spawed around htis metal-block and ppl were hunting it.
The hogglo does area damage, so you only had to be in a radius of like 50m...still ppl say you could fly high above it and not get any integral structure decay etc.

 

Thanks, I think I get it now... So the aircraft pileup was because everyone was trying to get above it to avoid structural decay? But then how could you hit the mob from within an aircraft, I thought you couldn't attack mobs with a vehicle. Also, am I right in thinking that Hogglos are those massive looking things with huge mouths.

 

Most werent high enough to avoid structural integ. damage...I think...no idea how it worked. YOu had to fly very high they said.
Those who were shooting the hogglo were outside the vehicles running around below the vehicles, shooting it.

 

Blimey the noise must have been deafening, must have been difficult to concentrate on shooting anything.
