Question about Next Island ...

I will have to agree with you on this one mindstar.

It doesent fit to the theme of Next island.

I guess this is one of the downsides of Neverdies hunt for virtual fame and for his name to be regonized.

Neverdie studios is from what i understand, Helping developing planet Micheal. So maybe that'll be the first planet with Neverdie studios which doesent have his name everywhere.

Otherwise there is also Planet arkadia (spelled right). coming in 2011.

Next island is nice enough. but i have to agree with several post's that we werent expecting it to be this much neverdieish

 

SEE Virtual Worlds, who develop Planet Michael, are NOT using the services of NEVERDIE Studios. And judging by half of Next Island being named after mr. Jon Jacobs and his ventures, I'm thinking that's a splendid idea of SEE.

Honestly. I cannot get over this. How on earth does this tie into the iPhone "game" I bought at all? Nowhere in that did I come across the name NEVERDIE. If I had, I'd probably not even have bothered coming up to NEVERDIE Island to begin with.

 

Theres neverdie there too? awww darnit -.- now I dont feel so excited about going

Umm you do realise that whole island to the right is CND island right?


The main part of next island, Crystal place, i see as the start of next island, and theres no neverdie anything.

 

I had planned on going when I log on later today but I can't bring myself to waste neither the time nor peds on on this.

 

Yes, far as I can tell that island and the various locations and tp names mentioned are all part of CND Island, a land area effectively. The whole planet isn't about ND, there are other areas, and tps to be discovered that you don't get automatically. I don't mind if he owns a land area in there, or anyone else really. So far I quite like the bits I've seen not on CND Island as well, a very different feel and I'm looking forward to exploring. Sounds like some started on CND island and just didn't realize there is much more and more to come?

PS really a shame to have the whole place dissed so badly on the first (unofficial) open day, then again maybe just as well David knows what he faces come Friday from the critics already in entropia

Ok I went to see the west island and its really pretty! Lots of interesting so far XD

I advise you to turn down graphics before going though the first city is REALLY graphically busy

 

I merely think it's a big shame that ND couldn't keep his own name out of NI, other than perhaps on the credits. ROCKTropia feels alien within the Entropia Universe due to the horrible lack of imagination when it comes to names etc. Now NI is hardly any better, and you still get the see ND's ego taking over. It's almost as if one planet was not enough to satisfie his ego.

I'm exploring the other island now, but whereas the ND part of NI seems to have plenty of MOBs, the other island seems strangely empty. I hope Mr. Post is taking notes here.

 

He probably wanted his name plastered all over it and they put their foot down!

I am sadly disappointed to hear all this. I guess I will be exploring Medusa's Head instead.

I hope the news gets better, and maybe ND takes his head out of his ass and realizes its not all about him!

 

Actually in an older audio interview that was posted on EF a while back and some other website.(interview done by Entropia Outfitters I believe) the guy from SEE said Neverdie Studios will develop their planets. Guy also said that in case Neverdie Studios wouldn`t be able to handle all the planets they might think of looking elsewhere but for the time being all things are with and they`re going ahead with Neverdie Studios.

Do you have any recent info where they say the contract with Neverdie Studios was canceled? If was canceled it would be interesting to know why that happened.

Actually after listening the interview again it seems SEE guy`s saying they have a contract with ND for 1 planet and depending on how busy ND will be, might be more contracts. He also said they were looking for other developers for rest of the planets.

 

Well. ND Studios is nowhere mentioned on the SEE site. SEE did refer to NDS before, like you stated. Other than that, there's the interview MS9 refered to (which will be available on Sunday).

As for the reason why, no idea. Got a hunch, though...

 

Next Island heads up

Someone just posted some interesting info on FPC forum:

 

Neverdie Decided to open his his HUGE Theme Park early. - The Paradise Zone (New Player Zone) on the mainland SE is open for testing now but the bulk of NI is not open yet. You may get TPs for the mainland and maybe mine some rare minerals (already Maganite and Tridenite, Dunkel Particles located as well as Zanderium, Solis Paste) so go explore and mine there before the mobs come. But the hunting zones for NI are not yet open. But i urge you to note

Neverdie Studios own the E lsland Area Only - The Mainland which is owned by David Post and the Next Island crew is not yet open until the 10th - well there are no mobs on the mainland yet. Just remember Neverdie Studios created the original groundwork for Next Island so he has the right to have his Island Theme Park Think of it as one huge Theme Park, its looks like that and graphics are mmmm..really nice, but the mainland looks like it will be much better when it opens on the 10th or in January when testing ends.. The Terrain on Next Island is the best we have seen yet - just wait till it gets going. And this design of landscape (still a few bugs in the north around the Enchanted Waterfall) sets the bar high for the new planet partners. The Landscape is magnificant, and Neverdies Island looks like one massive Theme Park.
