  1. So lets take a poll on what people think. There are some tongue in cheek responses here because Im sure there are some tongue in cheek answers. Let's run with that.

  2. So far i'm really impressed.

Village areas are a performance hit but not worse than PA, and for such a small development team the visuals are simply amazing. Loved the attention to detail, loved the feel of the planet without Calypso's 'staircases' on the sides of hills, the underwater areas, and the sound aspect. Wind blowing on mountaintops, fire crackling in the volcanos...

It's way more immersive than i expected, and even the cartoonish sky makes perfect sense when you see it joining with the sea at the horizon. Sure, there are glitches, like the absence of something to keep the mobs out of villages and the noobs safe (i do understand and accept that turrets don't fit the setting, but this isn't helping keep new players), the huge loot icons that make stacking thing in your storage a nightmare and a lot of ??? mobs, but since we're only in Beta i can see very nice things ahead...

bring on the time travel! let me go meet my grandfather :D

  3. great start, i am in love and i do not miss calypso ONE BIT :)

  4. I dont miss Calypso either. Yesterday I actually had a Soc member go back to Calypso, only to tell us a couple hours later "Wow. Now I remember why I left Calypso. The people there are jerks!" Admittedly I do miss Maffoids a little bit. The skill gains on those mobs were rather nice, and there was no eco hit from armor wear. Next Island doesn't seem to have the same philosophy regarding armor. Its more of a necessity.

Manny's post reminds me though -- I would like to see some dynamic weather generated at some point in Entropia. The Cry2 Engine is capable of it! An option to turn it on and enjoy rain, fog, snow, and all sorts of other effects depending on region would be nice. Even better if it wasnt always predictable.

  5. A good start. Hope the momentum can keep it going slowly the right way. Its a nice change of pace from Calypso, plan on commuting between the 2 every few weeks :-)

Bring on the Time travel so I can redo some auctions items I should not have bought and maybe not do a few mining runs LoL

  6. Love it here. Don't miss Calypso one bit and don't think i'll be going back ever. Wish they had turrets at the towns/revive/tp's is all. People, landscape, everything is a nice change from Calypso.

  7. I love it - really looking forward to whats to come. ND is however a bit of an overdose ATM, but that will change once more lands etc open up. Mobs are generally good, but shear numbers at revives does make it hard for some to escape them.

  8. red

    red

I actually liked the fact there were no turrets in the towns. the village boars and monkeys aren't that aggressive, so it's simple enough to wander about.

granted, it can be a little rough if you get caught at a revive and there's a group of animals chewing on you, but that can be sort of fun as well.

  9. I love it so far, but I want new clothes! We need bikinis, board shorts, and flip flops ... bring on the bps! Also, I would like to stretch out on the beach and work on my tan, so we need beach towels and lounge chairs. :)

  10. How about coconut bras, hula skirts, and "George Hamiltons Tanning Oil - Guaranteed to give your skin a leathery texture and extra protection vs cut!"

  11. Bring on the beachwear. I already have my lodge picked out. Can't wait till I can fish off the dock and work on my suntan. Can we have water skis so we can be pulled behind our boats in shark infested waters?

  12. Water skis with cut and stab protection :)

  13. LOL Wrong game
