New character.. Spawn killed.

I have come across some ppl skilling at revives where they are so close to the tp and the mobs run towards them and then you are trapped. There is no running away from them when there are half a dozen on you and sometimes impossible to shoot them with the pushing around. After seeing this skilling going on, I did it for an hour to check cause I thought it had changed that you weren't able to do it. After sitting there an hour of dyeing and reviving I didn't get a single skill for it. So is my level too high? Are these auto skillers getting skills? In either case it is a pain and hope something gets changed soon

EU doesn't come with much direction and NI is no different. Missions were just introduced in the last year or so. Before that is was just go out and figure it out yourself. Which I like, but would have liked it better when I first started to have some sort of direction so I can relate. But don't expect to have missions/quests thru out the whole game play :)

 

MA has made it so mobs stop giving you skills after a while, exactly so that people don't cheat the system like that. The only way to keep gettting skills, is if a player comes over and cleans the mobs trying to help the new players or those genuinely stuck. So, those skilling AFK don't get free skills - the ones of us that go to save them pay for those, in decay and ammo.

 

Yes, definitely costing decay and ammo as I ran across this again last night, but I believe these where actually new players, at least they told me they had only been playing a hour. I was creating a movie last night (which will post later) lol. When I died and went to Serpentine. (sp) Again revive was covered in mobs, when I cleared them out the gd that was there thanked me and asked if I could help his friend who had spawned at Enchanted Village when he joined the game. (Come to find out they are brothers who had just joined the game and each one of them spawned at different tp's) I got out my VTOL and flew him to Enchanted. When I got there again the area was covered in red dots except for one white dot. Landed and cleared out enough of them so he was able to get free.

If I was the developer of NI this would have been solved ASAP. This is money out of their pockets. How many new players have said "Fuck This" when they join the game and upon entering they are killed and can't escape???

 

There is usually a very easy way to distinguish them - real players aren't AFK, they either oooOOOoooOOOOoo for help on reply to you, or just roam around trying hopelessly to escape. +Rep for saving them :)

This is something that i admit has bothered me a lot. Seeing how FPC could take out an update for a fix in MM so quickly, while NI team seems unable to get through a simple patch that they know it's needed (as per the client loader message) and we know they can do (i mean, come on! Look at what they've created so far) makes me again wonder about the equality of Planet Partners in the eyes of MA. But that's a totally different topic...

ditto, one way or another this is costing all of us the longer it goes on, NI, MA, and the players, and frankly it makes no sense at all if all PP are truly getting the same attention and coder time priority

 

The game does need a little more direction for beginners, but I like having to figure stuff out on my own. Adds to the gameplay I think. What fun is it to be told how to do everything? I have been in game 5 years and I am still learning.

I'm a new player and I have the same problem the other new players had! I've been killed plenty of times, and after many death I managed to reach a hut with papoo and friends, craft and deposit machines...I thought it was a safe area, far from enemies and while I was trying to understand how to earn Pad in order to buy armor and weapon, I've been suddenly killed from a boar.....SO...WHAT SHOULD I DO NOW???

There are no place where to learn how to play...The new players are just put in the game with no armor, no weapons, nothing at all.

Can anybody suggest me something...

 

I know it's far from the optimal solution, but if you stay there a while, someone is bound to come over and rescue you, then explain the basic mechanics and how to use the teleporter to go to club neverdie that's far safer and with people around to guide you.

Hi Deanna, take a look at your map and let us know where you are, also let us know when you will be online. I'm logging in now and I'll take a look at serpentine the most likely spot. Rest assured if you give us the info somebody will come and rescue you. It's an unfortunate bug at the moment but regular players are doing their best to help new players as you can read in this thread.

No problem, Manny also took a look for you but you werent there yet, hope you enjoy your stay on Next Island. For now I would recommend that you stay on Neverdie Park (the big green area on the map) as if you die there you will be respawned at CND.
