    LordLongLicious Do you fear death?

I hear a lot about it on entropia, and every now and then I bump into some information that makes me wonder recently was the name of a specific type of armor plate (for mentors).

I am helping constantly about 40 new players and any other new player that I see, as I had a tought beggining on NI, so i was wondering.

So what is the big deal on mentoriing and does a mentor get any bonus?

  2. Mentoring no longer exists right now. But when it did a mentor could choose one or more disciples and when they got to a certain level they received a free gift, one of which use to be armor plates. So if you ever see a item with the name mentor (?) it was once handed out as a gift.

  3. A disciple graduated when he hit a certain skill level e.g. 1600 Melee(?), 2000 Laser (?) (unable to locate specific data in Entropedia) etc. When you have graduated 10 disciples you add the Mentoring skill to your professions.

Gifts were given once a disciple had graduated and had the designation of Mentor Edition e.g. Castorian Combat EnBlade-13 Mentor Edition, EWE EP-17 Bodyguard Mentor Edition, FreanD Alpha BLP Pistol Mentor Edition etc. These had marginally better stats than the non Mentor Editions had.

  4. I disagree with bonuses for mentoring, at least outright bonuses. Students should be able to vote their mentors a bonus, just participating in the act should net a mentor absolutely nothing. Basically I feel this way because I am against people doing mass recruitings simply to farm rewards, and human nature tells anybody who is willing to listen that this is exactly what will happen. I also believe there should be a cap on the number of people any single person can mentor at any time, so that mentors have to be active in the process from a managerial standpoint as well, and cant simply gather hundreds of people under their belt and play a waiting game.

This is spoken as a person who has helped over 200 people get started in EU. If I dont do a good job I dont deserve any sort of reward, and only the player can decide whether or not I deserve something, and exactly what I get. If they dont understand the process when it pops up, that's my fault for not teaching them about the mentoring process along the way.

  5. They did say the quest system will be used as part of mentoring now so I hope it is good improvement XD
