It's not a "scam" it's a bug. Scam would imply the high fail rate was intentional. I know it was expensive to click only to fail. Maybe try filing a support case and see what comes out of that in the way of explenation and possibly compensation. Just my two pec.

Enzo, I've always understood that you were part of the NDS or NI 'Live' Team (also for RT as Marius), so basically have official info when you speak. I can accept this is not an intentional 'scam' but a very costly bug, so is it your advice that those who have not yet done so should file a support case if they have clicked the bps and failed repeatedly? I haven't personally bothered since it is well known at this point and I have no expectations that myself or anyone else will be compensated for the peds lost (especially those who paid the high MU on any mats). I'm still waiting for them to respond to where my missing noob clubs are that were taken from the game before, so assume they are just overwhelmed at this point and no sense in giving them one more case to look at really that can't be fixed til a patch. However, having said that, SEE/SDS has now confirmed the obvious, support is MA, they just filter back to the PP any bugs etc that need to be fixed by the PP, so maybe worthwhile after all adding one more voice to the bp problem.

edit: support case filed, at least that way hopefully they can say whether or not it is actually a bug or a feature (still a dreamer)
rereading the post Pioneer from SDS made on another forum, I was wrong, he didn't say support is MA, he actually worded it as though support is a third entity that filters problems to MA or the PP as appropriate (my head aches)

 

Similar to the apparent skill level restrictions for the Time Travel BP mission, I have a theory that crafting of the crystals may require a noob to do so as well.

Has anyone tested this theory - I know its risky, but what is the skill level of those who are successful.

It may simply be something we have to problem solve. I hope it is that simple.

Any info on this enzo? or anyone?

mindark is funny.. tell them they gave us a bug that costs us money and they yawn, roll their thumbs for a few days and THEN get to it. but have you ever seen a bug that costs THEM money that wasn't fixed in a heart beat?

 

I just got reply from support that they are escalating my case up. Sounds like when I gave them full details they do know its glitch.

Like I said it is not a bug that I am aware of. If I had more information to give out I gladly would but at this time I do not know what is going on with the BP. I myself have failed a few times. Now I am just waiting with any ingredients that I have until I see them crafted more.

 

Okay I hear this a lot but I've noticed beneficial bugs that have stuck around for weeks sometimes. Take most recently the death training, we all know someone who benefited from the free evade skills. The quest on RT that allowed you to repeat and get 1 stamina point each time, that might still be around. Fruits and stones being incredible easy to find when driving. Further back, before my time, you had the acid pools bug. You had the attacking npc's with melee weapons for free skills, no decay but you still got gains. The first robot war where people where getting free dodge skills. The newb mobs dropping a high MU gun like crazy. Just to name a few bugs that players have benefited off of.

I understand that it was frustrating to click only to learn that there was almost no chance of success. Trust me I'm a little pissed about that too. Calling it a scam however is misleading to new players and can only hurt Entropia in general. Call it a "F'n stupid bug" or a "costly bug" but scam imparts a deliberate attempt to rip players off. New players do not join a game where they think the developers are deliberately scamming them.
My advice is to file a support case, the more who file one the higher priority it will get. I wasn't going to file one but I just did, maybe help get the ball rolling sooner.

 

Hypothetical scenario - What if they set it up so that the newer players have a better chance of success with the bp? I know it goes against how bps currently work but I think it would be a good way to have both new players and older ones work together.
I think if there is not an update with a fix very soon that maybe we just haven't figured out yet how to make the crystals affordable. Figuring out how new things work is part of the fun and shouldn't automatically be thought of as a bug if something does not work the way you think it should.

 

Good point. I've got most of what's needed, don't have the Crystals and I think I'm short one Chimera eye. If someone can provide those I'll supply the rest as well as a BP to a new player to give it a shot.

 

I heard there was a scam somewhere. So I remembered the last time I was scammed I had to leave the bar without any pants. :read: I have double checked, and you know what I am missing?

greyfox, you are comparing people getting some extra skills with people losing thousands of peds...
when we get bugs that cost us money we don't see a quick fix, but take for instance the bug many years ago when robots were bugged and globaled and hoffed alot, how long did it take before there was a fix? weeks? days? no.. it was fixed ASAP, because that particular bug wasn't costing players money, it was costing mindark...

so it's not a scam and not a bug, what's left? intentionally?

i found out recently that there has been a few rumors about me, that i had told lies to people in order to get my stuff sold.. those are just pure LIES!
I loot my stuff and i put it in auc, then people can choose themselves if they think it's worth buying or not, i have NOT in any way been trying to manipulate people or tell them lies to trick them into buying ANYTHING!
Some people say i had been spreading a rumor that the blueprints were very rare, so the high initial price was a good price... so they bought it, and now they are mad at me for "tricking them"!! pure LIES, i have never, and would never do that!
My prices are what you see, i don't manipulate and lie to get people to buy them at that price, i just put up an offer and let the players decide.. that's it
