NI Music

Yeah, the music at CND is just in that super-customized LA. The rest of the planet has the ambient music which is very nice and fitting of the environment.

I don't like rap at all myself, but what really bugs me is the constant stream of the F-word and N-word blasting out in every other song. Also, all the stuff like 'I'll slap that bitch down' etc. Lots of degrading stuff to women and people of color. Maybe that crap can have a place on RT, but it's just wrong to have it on NI. I for one don't want to hear it and I don't feel that I should have to turn the music off for the whole planet just to avoid the crap at CND.

I've been considering for a while submitting a formal complaint, but maybe if enough people comment here there can be some changes made...

They changed the music to rap? When did that happen?
Ya, like I always say, you can't spell crap without rap. :)

 

It is very often extremely vulgar stuff. I am about as far from being a prude as u can get and I'm extremely open minded, but that stuff should NOT be playing in a public space like that.

 

I always turn it off over there. once in a while, they'll play something that I don't mind. however, it is too infrequent and not worth listening to the bulk of the playlist. I do like the regular ambient music that's everywhere else.

since it's a privately owned area, there isn't too much that can be done I'd figure.

 

Club Neverdie is a dance club, so the music is played there (only in that land area, not worldwide) at the property owner's choice and discretion.

 

yupyup whenever I go to CND I turn off the music myself. Every now and then I arrive and hear something good and leave it on for a while though not usually

Speaking of which when will we have a deathtiki at crystal resort so we can hang out there and craft instead

Humm this made me think of something. I seem to remember from long ago that the number of land areas on a planet is limited by the number of active players due to balancing to keep them valuable. Does this meant that NI has all its LA's it can make used up till we have HUGE influx of players.

 

Lets start taking a count of how many people disagree with the music and then if it seems the majority of people disagree we can send ND a request for different music.
Although it's still un likely that anything I like will be a hit either. Here's some examples;

I wish, and yes I know what they say about wishes, that the entire LA wasnt ruined by that music. It makes more sense to me to have it play when you enter a building, and gives a reason to enter certain buildings as each building could play different dance grooves.

As it stands now though I turn off the music whenever I hunt or hang out on CND. Generally I opt for more peaceful places like Serpentine though.

 

I usually wait to hear what's playing at CND. I've heard some very good old rock 'n roll, which I love, also some great reggae and R&B. But if it's that rap sh*t, I just turn it off.

 

The poll seems loaded. I dont want to pick on genres of music. I do think however that if someone wants to blast music over 1/4 the available land area ingame, and the only area that skeletons, great whites, the uber shark, death drakes, and sacred boars spawn.... well... actually this shouldnt be available. He has exclusive rights to certain mobs, the components of which are required for time travel, and forces you to listen to his eclectic garbage if you want to hunt them.

(nothing against eclectic garbage. i happen to enjoy it sometimes. just not when im trying to relax and play a game. im happy listening to public enemy or mike patton at the bar)

 

I just turned off the music totally. I have been playing for a little over 2 months, and i turned it off in the first week.. few good songs, mostly crap, lol..... meh, off works for me just fine...... But MA could always turn it into a jukebox.... cheap of course <mabey?>....

 

funny enough its been really good tunes for a few hours now hehe

 

In the poll I didn't choose my favorite type of music (metal) because it doesn't fit NI any more than Rap and some of the others.

I marked other because there is a lot of "island" music that's really good and some is suitable for a club atmosphere, and I don't just mean Reggae.
