Argh. But if I hang on to them what the heck am I going to sell? I don't think I get enough loot from boars to cover ammo costs, and I don't really feel like sweating for two months before I can actually play the game.
As you travel around NI be sure to walk instead of running and as you walk, look for natural stones or fruit sitting on the ground. They show up when you are within a couple meters of them so it's best to be in 3rd person view. The fruit isn't worth a lot yet so hang on to it til taming comes back. After a while people will use up their reserves and the fruit will sell. The natural stones, rutol, brukite, nissit, etc., can be sold for a decent bit of ped. Buyers for the stones should be easy to find on NI all the time.
Starting out as a newbie is tough. The concept in itself is a whole new world and this is way different than most anything you've ever played. Starting out at NI atm makes it a bit tougher, as there is a lesser economy right now, but it seems to be a noob friendly place, at least once things get moving. NI is a wonderful place, but the first thing you must learn here is patience, especially here. I've been in and out of this game for 5 years and patience is probably the toughest part, but also probably the most valuable part. Take your time, meet lots of people, and most important, have fun! EU has lots to offer and slowly, very slowly, but surely its getting better.
Alright, a few more questions. Do you actually have to walk for the fruits and stones to show up, or is it just easier to see them that way? Are there more in the wooded/rocky areas, or are there just as many on the beaches and such too? And are there any mobs with over 10hp (ie: over 10 sweat) that won't kill me in 2 seconds? My evade is only 120 something...
No you have to walk. No type of area is better for finding fruits/stones but there are some areas that seem to have specific types in abundance. I don't walk looking for them but I have found 2 stacks of brukite with a total of 120 units while hunting skeletons around mount peel, keep your distance from the skeletons and that may be a good place to look. That's roughly 9ped worth of brukite. As for mobs that would be good to sweat with more then 10hp I am not sure, maybe the brown papoo or buccaneer skeletons(if skeletons can even be sweated).
Thanks. Brown papoos are a winner. Skeletons can be sweated too, but I haven't found ones weak enough for me to handle them yet. :P I still have at least a good handful of tp points yet, so perhaps I will take a hike and watch for stones when I get tired of sweating next time. Thanks again for the info. Very handy. Update: Found the buccaneers. :)
Yes JustJohn, Maygar gave the correct definition for TT (Tradse Terminal), but when you hear folk saying, "I bought it for 'TT...'" he means he bought it for the price listed on the item's 'info'. This is the price you would get by sticking the item in the trade terminal - it is the value Mindark has deemed the item to be worth. I hope this explains the term in greater detail. :read:
