Why is it that we continually take it in the shorts. We have no economy whatsoever.if you look on the auction for goods our planet has nothing, You can't even buy a full set of armor from N.I. only. The only way to get anything is to buy from other planets and then we take it in the shorts from MindArk. Where they come up with their shipping cost for virtual items, all I can say is that it's virtual rape. The thing that set me off today I was going over some global stats for the last 7 days we have like 72. Is our money less green than the people on Calypso no it's not but they treat us like it is. I say enough is enough they only way anybody is going to listen to us is if we ban together. Look at how many people leave the island to do anything. My old soc, they were continually leaving (me included) because the hunting and mining here is B.S. the way it stands it costs us more money to do anything on this island because of the low return. If I was aware of this i for one would have never made this journey. The unfair gaming practice needs to end now!

I dont think this has anything to do with their terms of service. The primary complaint I saw was that we have an incomplete world and folks here are perceived as offering nothing of value because of it. This game is a real cash economy. But without an economy, all this game ends up being is real cash. Its not like Calypso is any different right now, though. The populations there are tiny compared to what they were at this time last year. I was talking with a fellow who is deeply involved in MMORPGs, has been a keynote speaker at numerous gaming conferences for the past 9 years, and is widely recognized as an industry genius. He had nothing but disappointment to express in the current state of Entropia Universe, and expressed worry for me that I had started my latest project here. I cant say I blame him given the things I have observed, but I am hopeful things will turn around and that this is just going to be a slow year.
Why should I give up on this game. I as you all do to have alot of time and money invested in this game. I not by any means am trying to make a profit in this game., but it is no where near what Calypso has to offer. The problem I see it is within us. Well either except it or just look for something else. Thats just the roll over and die attitude that is getting us no where.
Patience is a virtue, one that you can get a lot of practice with on NI. I'm not saying just roll over and take it in the shorts, but we know a major update is coming so just bide your time until then. Although this is easy for me to say, RL is getting in the way of EU at the moment. Most nights I can only get on for half an hour or so. Saves PED when a single hunt takes a week though :)
I think that you are missing the point here. they have had plenty of time to fix some of the issues in game and they have chosen to highlight the text in amerithia rather than to fix the bug at CND. Point being we are spending our money as are the people in calypso but the value of the dollar here on NI get you a little more than half of a dollar spent in calypso. the game is the same from here to there but we have to shell out more money. If the game is a beta then calypso is a beta as well, the images change but the core content is the same. When I decided to come to next island there was never any mention of this being a beta, but like everything else mindark does they love keeping you in the dark.
Actually, there was mention of it being a beta. What there has been an absence of is any public mention of it being in final release.
learn to use the enter button. Calypso has had 8-11 years to establish itself, nextisland has been around for under one year. As i said in the other thread, what you appear to have missed is the fact that each planet is a seperate game, inside a universe (platform) Do us all a favour, and do a little research into the place before posting again ;)
okay well you might be right, we have no economy whatsoever, we have nothing that keeps us busy. there are almost no armor drops yet. But if you think really logical, Next island is released in januari? means its 4 freaking months old. give it some time to build up. a market doesnt just start instantly when people come to NI, it costs time and dedication. When the new blueprints will drop on NI im sure the auction will get a Market flow. ,, ive quit this game a few times, but this game is unique. you will never find anything like it. you will always end up coming back here.
You are right the game is unique. I never said anything about leaving the game. I just gonna leave this planet and from what i have heard I am not alone. I like next island, but with the start up of arkaida coming I'm not gonna wait that long. So have fun sitting on a deserted island.
As a player of this game I have been challanged on many levels. I can see and have seen in the past and now the Auctions offer profit for the player that want to make a future profit. As for the issues of NI with the upgrades and the lack of development I have had personal issues with my estate deed on NI. I believe that this NI will improve with time and NI will develop into a unique culture offering good oppounuties for any that wish to take up the challange. The universe (platform) needs time to complete and fix the past issues we all know about. Time is all the developers need and as for me I have all the time in the world. There are no quick fix in real lif nore is their in this game. If NI is not for you right now then TP back. The best way for change is by walking away with our ped in pocket and spending peds in game in other area's. Lets not dump on the whole game when only one part or Location is a issue. WE all have a choice in game to hunt, craft, mine, chat, explore,trade in any part of the universe. Not all of this universe have issues so why not just get on with it and move forward. That's what I have done. I will continue to expand my game plan on all locations in the future. Just because some parts of this game have issues dosn't stop you from playing just change you game plan. It's a win win answer. If this game is about peds income then like any investment it always a long term that wins and not just the quick fix. That my two cents.
