Next Island failed?

  1. Hey all!

So i had a break for sometime, i remember when NI first Came out Lots of people where here and neverdie was doing Nice events every weekend. Then it slowly went downhill, first they took away the sacred boars, and events ended. So i also went away for a while not only ni but entropia in general. And now i return i see new missions should Be available on NI and some Nice ones even where you could get stamina, agility and strength. So i go there just to find out those missions dont even exist anymore? And others are bugged? And not to mention whats up with All the weird animal parts, crystals and skeleton parts? Is it just All tt crap or Will it ever have a Real function? And one last thing. I hardly ever see any other players on Ni either. So What happend?

    Regards

  2. Ni is a work in progress. Time crystals are now easier to get and Ancient Greece is open to visit while you wait for the updates.

  3. I never recall ND doing any events. Those first missions were announced that they would be changed, Maybe a mod can remove the thread about them so not to cause more confusion. And for the new ones, I did all of them and I don't recall any of them being bugged. We are hoping that when we finally get bps that all of those crystals, animal and skeletons parts will have a use.

As for what happened? Some ppl get tired of waiting and move on.

  4. All the new missions are at crystal resort and thats where you will see most people. Prior people would hangout at CND, but most hang out in crystal now, though you won't see a ton of people. Right now all the crystals and animal parts have no use. Soon we all hope. NI won't move forward economy wise until we have new bps, new items and gameplay improvements on Greece. Slowly its heading in the right direction.

I don't think it has failed. it is evolving slowly, though. I like the recent changes.

it is true that more things are needed - a purpose for NI specific parts, etc. but, that will come. in the meantime, there is still quite a bit that can be done. you just have to be a little creative and determined.

  6. Glad NI has a new development team. And the old indeed buggy missions are gone. So far it looks promising.

  7. While you where gone their was that whole "Neverdie shouldn't play" hunt on PCF, so I imagine since he can no longer engage in end user activities that means he can no longer hold those events.
Also during the time that you where gone Neverdie Studios stopped working on Next Island and now the development is done by the NI team, headed by Harold Sipe, this last update we got was his work, and although it wasn't everything we needed, it did fix a lot of things.

  8. LOL, check his Twitter account — and you'll find out that he's quite actively engaged.

  9. Ya, apparently he is allowed to play in space because he did not develop it, I assume that also means he could play on Calypso and Arkadia aswell. Plus there is his "petition" to MA to let him play where he occasionally goes hunting on RT and globals. Anyway it's discussion for another thread.

  10. ND did run some events before his ban. I enjoyed the events and ND commentating during the event on the in game music station. I hope someone comes along and does events like that in the near future.

  11. I must have been under a rock LOL I don't recall him doing any

  12. he was running some events on RT and it uses the same radio and I heard those commentary before but did not hear an event actually on NI myself

  13. Time will tell if NI is going to be all it made out to be. I just hope the development team can stay focused on the long standing bugs first and stop adding more bits.
As for me i spend a small amount of time a week on NI. I prefer to spend peds and many hours a day where their are less development issues to deal with.
