Hi, I visited ancient greece before the space update and would just like to make a few comments about what I think about it, and what I think it could be. Firstly I have to say I am a fan of ancient history, as well as mythology. So a mythological ancient greece parallel dimension was right up my alley. As soon as I stepped out into greece I was somewhat impressed. I liked the design so far, it have a good starting feel that I actually was in ancient greece. Upon closer inspection, there were a bunch of details that were really lacking. The buildings close up were fairly bland - Calypso can get away with this most of the time, because it is futuristic and clean. However on Greece it would have been really nice to see more details models. The animations were a bit worrysome also, the water especially - it hurt my eyes to look at it. That really needs to be fixed. There are all the obvious problems that people have already pointed out, the items don't live up to all the tasks required of them. hunting is difficult. Getting around is also difficult without tp chips nor vehicles. I was also kind of annoyed that my implant was removed. I saw great potential in greece, and I'd definately go back there again for a long time if some stuff was sorted out. Here is what I'd looooooooooove to see happen: Firstly, sort the items out so it is feasible to hunt and get around. Clearly armour wasn't a rarity in ancient greece. Put in some really authentic awesome looking armours that are useful. Either in the TT or as a fairly common drop, UL would be great. Bigger weapons would also help in drops, or craftable (i.e. also put in crafting). Ranged weapons! This is ancient greece, they did actually have ranged weapons, namely bows (and siege weapons). I would recommend Greece to everyone on my FL if you implemented bows that work as following: Very long range (maybe less damage than melee to balance it out) and have the projectile (arrows bought from TT) have gravity drop (like support weapons do). I do archery IRL and the most challenging and fun thing about it is allowing for the drop of the arrow. The lower level bows could have a slow reload time, but the higher level ones could have a much faster reload time (obviously as you get better at archery, you get faster). This needs to be accompanied with a nice animation too please. I get somewhat put off by having teleporters in ancient greece. I can handle the cyclops', but teleporters seem too much. How about instead having stables, so it's as if you rode with someone on a horse from one place to another. Vehicles! As said, getting around is hard. The map is covered in lots of water, how about having different boats that we could use. Maybe some have ballistas on them for pvp battles. Other ideas for potential vehicles could be: horses (maybe need to wait for taming), horse and wagon, icarus wings. And lastly, pvp! This is ancient greece, you can't do ancient greece without having pvp. Fort battles, oil rig type thing (obviously not oil), land grabs! Maybe near water so we can use those ships that have siege weapons on them. Thanks!
I've now spent some time in Ancient Greece and can only agree with what's mentioned above. Salix description of ranged weapons would be a great addition to a place like this! Crafting stations ofc, but also mining /treasure(?) need to be included. As it is now, with no vehicle, one should at least be able to mine while wandering about. A shovel would do nicely, right?? :p
Cherries and I tried Asterions yesterday hoping loot might be better than Cyclop mission loot was. Killed 40 L7-10 Asterion and 19 were no looters. Average loot was 1.57 ped and it cost about 3 ped to kill them. I can't see spending any more ped in this place until updates come along.
Yeah, loot could need some improvement too! I'd rather loot a slightly improved "Strong" Herb Box than a disabled Fap-XX. I really hope there'll be some more exciting "item" update this year for AG, it would give me a reason to go back there again, or I'll have to wait until my tt stuff is tierd to T10 ;) "Some of the weapons that the Ancient Greeks used were the spear, sword, armor, shield, phalanx, ballista"
Ok, a lot of your suggestions I have to agree with, but in what is really a mythic greece setting - cyclops, minotaurs, and variations - magical teleporters don't seem that out of place to me. However, if the TP's had to be replaced I would go for stables of Pegasi rather than horses. They could fly you anywhere, no restrictions on water or heights, and introducing Pegasi gives the posibility in the future that we may be able to tame and fly them. Without the TP's though, you have to rely on the NPC who'll transport you to Thebes, to leave the underworld. You could also have the underworld portals connect to the portal in Orpheus's Cave, one-way. For game purposes a certain suspension of disbelief has to be accepted. Don't forget that we're all buying stuff from market traders in AG using a credit card :)
