Well I've been meaning to do that but I am a terrible procrastinator, thanks for the reminder, I'll go update a couple things there.(it wont be all that much info though :) ) Okay updated damage type for the drakes, corrected the name of Vulcan drakes(was still fire drake) and sharks. Although exact damage I am unsure of.
On new planets there are two types of players. 1. New players who don't understand the mechanics of the game enough to feel confidant in updating a wiki. 2. Visiting players more interested in spending their ped and getting the big hof to care about updating the wiki. Type 1 has the potential to grow into a great data head who relegiously updates the wiki, but it takes nurturing by type 2 to get them to that stage. Type 2 will complain that it hasn't been done and blame type 1 for their lack of commitment. The problem is that it is a game, and as much as we enjoy the comrade of 'community' we are each here for our own selfish leisure. It takes selflessness to take the time to either teach or to lean the the intricacies of data gathering. We get home after work, do what needs to be done, and then sit down to relax in the game, we dont want to waste that relaxation with more work. There needs to be a compromise there somewhere, but its hard for any of us to figure that out :P narfi ps. just realized that looked like it was directed at you Sam, its not, just generalities on how I view the data gathering that is('nt) taking place on each of the new planets.
Very true Narfi, some of us have a very limited amount of time we can actually play for each day. For me it's the time after I get my son to bed until I go to bed, some days that's only a half hour window. Also I really don't like dying, so getting repeatedly killed by a mob to determine it's max damage is kind of a downer :) Anyway updated the info I have determined to be accurate based on what I know from hunting those creatures. For a general idea of their damage you can look in the bestiary section of this forum. I had done some tests on Great Whites using different armours and plates to give an idea of what kind of protection to use.
You forgot one. 3. Some who doesn't know how to update a wiki and doesn't want to spend the time to figure it out :)
No offence taken. I freely admit that I have taken much more from Entropedia than I have given back in contributions. I could count the number of updates I have made on one hand (with fingers left over). I made a number of attempts over the last couple of years to update things like mob locations, but could not seem to figure out how to do it (though I must confess I didn't try very hard). Can anyone recommend a good guide for contributing to Entropedia? Sam ;)
I've not done as much as I could have either :P You could start here, Entropedia: Help and ask questions here, Entropedia.info Official Thread hope that helps you get started, narfi
Yep, I'm in category 3 too, thx for the help info. :) Will take a look'n'see if I can make a contribution of any kind
I've been updating Ancient Greece this week. Should have all locations up soon. It's pretty tough with no scanner to determine HP & only tt weapons but should be able to get fairly accurate HP & max dmg on smaller mobs.
