Hey, What is the best GFX card on the market for EU at the moment? From reviews I can see that the GTX 480 isn't as great as everyone had hoped. I'm ideally looking for something that has a watercooled varient available, I'm not too confident on DIYing a waterblock onto a card. Any advice would be appreciated, Eps
Best in my view at this moment is a ati 5870 for a sweet combo of price power consumption and performance, if u want faster at ofc bigger cost higher power usage then 5890 is the thing to get. u dont give a hoot about power usage heat or cost? then go for 3x gtx480 in sli that is a record breaker (ofc its near imposible to get 1 card atm let alone 3 but if u care only for fastest :D ) or 3 or 4 x crossfire 5870 easyr to get but silly on settings and power consumption (i use a single 5870 and have not met its limmits in eu)
Most bang for your buck would probably be a 5850. A 5870 would be kind of overkill since you pay pretty much 120$ more for about 10-15% better performance.
Can you run the settings on very high with the 5850? With regards to SLI and Crossfire, I currently have an SLI setup (8800GTX) and it doesn't work very well with EU, a lot of people also seem to have the same issue with SLI so I want to steer clear of that. Basically I want to run everything at 1920x1200 (or 1080, havent decided on the monitor yet) in very high settings and have good FPS performance.
if u can put a vew extra bucks in for the 5870 and i can say, u can max whatever u want for now and a good time ahead. aside from graphics card go for win7 if u havent done so yet, this way u got the full dx11 support and hazle free system spoken from personal exp. (vista should be thrown into the corner where it can bug itselfe :D)
Yes, I've maxed out EU with my 5850 without lagg, except from Nea's place where there are hundreds of people. And yes you can max it with a 5870 as well! ;D

In my opinion the GTX 4XX are overpriced, wait a month or 2 f you want to buy one, and probably better driver support. On the other hand I just got a GTX260 for 180€ and almost max EU. Old card, but works.
