Forum Fixed - Check Planet Fixed - waiting...... Good job on the forum. Finally seems as someone actually cares :P -Bemo-
LOL I meant the ones that were there before. And why is it some members have "NIF Pioneer" tags and others don't?
Is there a color theme selector hidden somewhere? My eyes can't stand white-on-black text for longer than 3 minutes And looks like spammers are attacking the forum again. The captcha won't save from it. A possible solution could be that a new member with less than 5-10 posts would be asked to answer some simple game-related questions to post the comment, like what's the name of the NPC nearest to the arrival. Also in addition to the Report button there could be a Spam button which being clicked by 3-5 of older members would hide the thread/post and send it to pre-moderation.
I would like to sincerely apologize that it took so long for the forum to be fixed, but we hit many roadblocks along the way.. That being said I would like to congratulate Peter on a job well done! He was extremely instrumental in making this happen. Your hard work has truly paid off! This is just the start of some fantastic things to come from NI in the following months, stay tuned!
LOL... All in good time Softhart... all in good time. Just know that I have been here for a little while and the progression of the game should show that. There will be a press release soon. I would also like to add that we have been working extremely hard at making the NI experiences fun and interesting for everyone, and I personally worked extremely hard to get this forum up and running and hit many issues along the way, when Meg stated that we were "working on it" we really were. Rome wasn't built in a day. I appreciate everyone that stuck it out and I promise you will never have to endure that again. Bigger and Better things are on it's way! Cheers!
Hey, I am behaving Well forum is up and running, happy for that. :) So I will sit back and try and have more patience. FYI I hate the word "soon" :)
Leftovers from the pre-import configuration and the actual import. I had a few issues during the import, courtesy of a few corrpted database tables (which were the reason for the old forum errors). Feel free to chuck me a PM whenever you encounter things that seem out of the odrinary, and I'll handle it. I tried testing most functionality, but have apparently not managed to catch absolutely everything.
We can see what can be done styling-wise. We just ported over the style to look as much as the old style as possible. As for the spammers, I installed an anti-spam mechanism, which has proven to be very succesful on EP. I was hoping default XenForo would stop most of it, but unfortunately that turned out not to be the case. It's possible the spammers found a way around the additional checks I helped Enzo set up a long time ago. Let's see if the new tool manages to provide more efficient against these phone peddlers. At the same time, I also added the ability to 'down-vote' a thread, which is similar to what you described earlier. If 3 people down-vote a thread, it will be hidden from public view (note that we will keep an eye on potential abuse of that feature).
Yeah, I didn't expect things to be perfect. There are probably things we will notice as we post. (Like the change in pictures for you and the CGO.......LOL Darth Mull, Star Wars fan?
I like alot of things... you will see my picture change often. You will also notice I will be very vocal on these forums. :D
Actually, my pic is just me. I figured the NI avatar might give the suggestion that I joined the NI team. That is not the case, so I figured I'd use my own mug shot.
It's great to see a new website, and a new batch of people who seem to care 8) seems like there was a little shake up... i like it ;) I could not access my old account.... the pw was not accepted, and i could not change it and my email was in use, so i had to use another...
New forum! Great! New forum software, even better! And EP have prepared some goodies to celebrate this. Now I hope NI will take further steps forwards, development-wise, and not one backwards...
I just figured that I would share a cool tip that I randomly found 1-2 weeks ago: press CTRL+mouse wheel to zoom in/zoom out forum to match your screen size.
Tass ~ I 100% guarantee there will never be a backwards step again! You are going to love what we have in-store for NI coming in the next few releases.
