It always surprised me that it took so long to come up with ingress. The first even vaguely similar location based game I know of was RiderSpoke. This was 13 years ago though. Kinda amazed no one has done a lication mining game yet.

Re the cloud drop i suspect they did get their 5k new people as twitter and telegram indicate they got that many in the channel/following them. They said the drop would be after the entropia integration though?

As for the rest and this weird unevidenced buy in at the last minute....wow... just wow.

Unless they wanted to invest not in MA itself but in their crypto adventure. With all the hype going on as of late, what seems more likely? What for would someone with that amount of money want to buy MindArk, out of all? Until we know who these investors are, it is pretty useless to speculate.

The only thought I'd be going out on a limb with might be, if this isn't just a creative financing ruse and the money somehow comes from insiders, then it probably is loose money someone gained already in the crypto bubble who wouldn't be poorer than say, a year or two ago, if it was lost again. This is not wise but, well, human.

I guess we'll know more within short. Because keeping everybody in the dark about what's going on there really would mean the end.

 

I'd be really quite worried about where that 12 mil was coming from if I were MA. Especially if the company is only worth double that. Scary amount of cash being thrown at you to not ask questions. Why all at the last minute too?

I can't imagine it would be money laundering with MA being so hot on this KYC stuff. After all, aside from the generalised IPX thing which may or may not happen it strikes me that the main point of all this is to:

a) make some money
b) fund some development
c) add a way in which MA are happy for funds to be instantly withdrawn from Entropia.

I wonder what will happen next... (likely it will be quiet so we will have to listen very carefully)
