Are they all reading a text ?
They all look bored by the test and game themselves....not so convincing.

  2. How they are all reading the words Mr. Simmonds put into their mouth...this video isnt even worth commenting, sorry.

Polished action bar ftw...haha...these videos keep coming every now and then...

We want to be 200% sure to deliver a great product (this time)...beyond embarassing...

Is My recording herself on a Logitech Webcam from 2003? There's hardly any pixels in her parts of the video.

"Assuming they pass our internal tests and verification". Which, based on historic experiences mean they spend 2 minutes seeing if MA loses any money, and that's about it. Just kidding. They don't spend 2 minutes at all. Ain't nobody got time fo' that.

Also very daring of the senior dev (Andeu?) to state they want the new UI to work well for players. Let's see how they will do when it's released. Again, past experience tells me it will be messy, and involve a number of patches and updates for that to be true.

"New controller support, finally". VR? Which was first announced in 2015. Then half-assed implemented in 2018. 5 years from announcement to development would be warp-speed for MindArk. I mean. Fishing and taming, anyone?

"UI expected to be released end of Q1 2021". So 2025?

"Mikael Ryding who is our QA Lead" - I was expecting another doggo to show.
"I recently started at MindArk" - Yeah, no shit. Let's hope this guy is capable.
"We can be pretty structured and try to test things the same way every time" - Admitting there never was such a thing as unit testing or before. Which explains a lot.

Overall, poor quality video. Lots of promises, as usual. And as others already said, the lack of enthusiasm from all 4 participants speaks volumes.

I initially clicked the the wrong video, and ended up watching the "Short trailer". What caught my eye in it was the term: "Free to explore", which differs from the usual "Free to play". Is that something they recently started using? Because at least, for once, that's more honest than anything else MA usually spouts.

  4. Now it all starts to make sense, after watching this.
Glad I jumped of this train.

Nah been around for a long time as I defo remember thinking it was a good term and indeed accurate/honest some years ago... and of course I like exploring... and indeed it's mostly free.

OK this is just crying out for a McCormick re-edit/YTP.

To be fair though... the UI is, and always has been a bizarre frankenUI of many different bits from many different years where little bits of it got changed section by section. I think my ex Crytek friend once said something about the front end of cryengine 2 being some sort of scripting language or something or other hence not very responsive.

It would be nice if they were working on this with a cohesive plan and redoing the whole thing from scratch. After all it's kinda crazy that dragging a window around is clunky or that it takes minutes to load a full inventory up.

This said though, I foresee more shitting on what people loved about the old UI, like the ability to make it go away... entirely - which was already nerfed in the control update. No doubt we'll see some awful shit that we can't turn off because lets face it, if was good, they'd be showing it already, but no, they carry on like they did with the covert control update that was only shown to a select few fanboys who volunteered. Far better to have recorded a demo and got feedback from everyone, or offered a beta server.... but well, you know...

We'll probably see an end to the good ol' loot window too, which would be sad. One thing I expect we can guarantee is that the text of the avatar names in chat will still be almost the same colour as the background, because that (and the ability to fully hide stuff) was the one thing I specifically asked them to fix.

Go away Wistrel, come back when you're a real uber. XD
