loved your work on the conquest system wizzz, dont like like ppl getting upset like this and eventhough i do not know the full story i wish u best and hope u hang around so we can get back in our silly game while peter dos the debugging and balancing.:D

 

What wizzszz is twittering on about is the most important element in that snippet of conversation he quoted.

It doesn't make any of the involved parties right or wrong, and I'm not taking sides here, but it's unfair to judge somebody simply because they are being emotional.

People always have a reason for being emotional. In this case you missed something that is clearly a major factor in the events, and have therefore failed to give consideration to whatever the cause behind that emotion might be.

I hope whatever is going on behind the scenes and any problems caused as a result can be successfully resolved.

I agree somewhat with Lykke when she says it's the people that make the forum, but the people here are predominately the same as on EF and even if not physically the same person, are still of a similar mindset.

That unfortunately means there are people here who, for example, think they are something special or that others are inferior, just because of their post count. It's nowhere near as bad as on EF, but even so I still have to restrain myself from giving these sorts both barrels at every opportunity. :D

For me, the extra features are what give this forum something totally different and make it a refreshing change to EF. So much so that I've started to visit here a lot more and even made it a joint homepage in my browser.

This honestly makes me sad.
I really hate to see him leaving, I love how he kept the tracker flourishing.

And really.. Being the kid who constantly got picked on a bullied I can totally relate to his current situation and it makes me relive some of my worst moments.



I know it probably doesn't matter what I say, it wont bring wizzszz back... but I wish it would.

Quick note to the Tracker part of Entropia Planets.
Peter and I will be looking into adding some data from Entropia Tracker to EP until such a time where he has coded his own tracker - or we have taken other actions to ensure that the tracker functionality of EP is not a thing of the past.

Also very sad to see wizz leave. Wizz reminds me of my younger days I used to have a very short fuse and was always angry (not a good combination). I'd always be getting into fights...

I get the impression wizz is considerably younger than us old fogies ;)

I may be wrong in all this (i often am) and don't know the details of what this is about but would there be any possibility of sorting things out.

Perhaps start over with a clean slate?

At any rate hope you guys can still be friends...

Sometimes an old era ends and a new one starts. Things will not be the same, but that doesn't mean things won't be as good ;)

I apologise to Wizz for my comments. They were borne of the frustration I felt on your unwarranted defensive attitude and language. It was irritating me.

I was guilty of falling into that which I was spouting against. A clear, level headed approach and demeanour.

I have no doubt that you have contributed greatly to this forum Wizz and have over the months been a great asset to the staff.

I have no real gripe with you at all, as the reasons for what have happened are nothing to do with me. I was just picking up on the 1 little snippet of your interactions with the other staff and took it as an indicative and a representative portrayal of your relationship with the other members of the staff.

I fully realise that this may not be the case and that I was wrong to use this as an example and a vehicle to snap at you.

I am not, and never will be, in full cognisance of the events that have been going on behind the scenes but thought at the time that your posted crudeness was worth a pop at. Especially as to outward eyes, it seemed an inconsequential thing you were getting angry about.

I do hope that you understand and realise that I was just flipping into "Squeaky mode" over the use of language. I took a pop at that 1 single post you made, that I thought and still do think, were out of order. This is all that was based upon. Not the background issues of which I am unaware.

And @ Mandy. Thanks for the level head :) But I do hope that your second last paragraph was not directed at me. Having our main soc interaction the private areas of EF is a blessing and a curse regarding postcount status :D

Peter, i have asked you 4 times to help me with (incedibly simple) coding tasks - every single time you promised me to get it done "by tomorrow" - even after several reminders, and me providing half the code needed via PM you were not able to finish the tasks - in 3 cases this ended with me coding the stuff on my own (after over 1 week of waiting each time), the 4th case ended up with me (after bugging you for 2 weeks, providing almost the full copy&paste code) heavily assisting you, which took way more time than doing it on my own...

I'd be happy if you learned proper coding overnight, but it sounds a bit strange that you appear to code things like a mission tracker replacement faster than i coded the original - especially as you never had time to help lowering my work load by helping out with beginner tasks - not as you were unemployed, and especially not since you got a job again...

I will confirm in public when you did indeed code all the things on your own (within less than 24 hours, in which you had to work, sleep, shower, yada yada...), otherwise we should have a word about compensation for my (copyrighted) work - i am sure none of us want's to believe that you use my code without permission behind the stages.

If Peter makes a mission tracker system in a night - you want to look at the code to make sure that he dident steal any of your "magic" code?

Ok.. So, if he does this.. And he sends you the code.. Will you send him any code you make from now on as to make sure you do not use HIS code?


I do however feel that even if he does send you the code you will claim that its a ripoff of your code. I say this because of the discussion we had on Skype regarding a cooporation between ET and EPT.
I asked how you ensured the screenshots turned out rigth (im giving the background so other people can follow)....
You said you used DirectX, and I said; "yeah, Akoz told me the same prehaps I should do that as well" (or something to that extend)..

I then posted on EF that I would look into making it use directX instead of the way I do it now.

Next time we spoke you went all ballistic saying I stole your idea.... This is why I fear that if Peter has a small section of the code that does the same as a small section of your code did, even if its in a different way.. Then you will say he stole your code.


On a personal note I couldent be more happy that you are not on the team anymore. Your arrogance and general misunderstanding of the whole idea of a "community site" is baffling to me.
It may be that you are the best programmer to ever walk the earth, in fact im pretty sure you are very very good, but that dosent change the fact that you still need to be able to communicate with people and see things from their point of view.

I must say .. you did amuse me while we spoke on Skype.. There are two parts that stands out.
The first was the before mentioned "collaboration" between our trackers.
We spoke about sharing data - now I cant remember exactly how it went - but the end result were that I would consider sharing data with you but I couldent give a definitive answer right off the bat. And your reply - classy as you are, considering your tracker never really worked and you never got full coverage - were: "The offer wont stand forever". Talk about arrogance.

The second was that you said that "Entropia Tracker" would not exist in a year - as if you had some magic plan to destroy other tracker sites out there.
I lol'ed in real life.. :-p So thanks for that.

So, to sum up.
If you have any differences with Peter... Why do we need to know about them, if it isent because you want to hurt Peters relations with the community? (Right now its swinging the other way I think - after this thread we now see a clear distinction between you and Peter and the way each of you demands things vs. tries to explain things...)

If you want something from Peter .. his code.. money.. whatever.. Ask for it in PM's or go to your lawyer.. It seems as if its on that level of "angryness" you are now...

@Starfinder: I didnt even read your post, it started already so laughable, it hurts...

You've been a "persona non grata" here on EP ever since your first post, partially because of your obsessive character, partially because of your astonishing ignorance - at least i haven't tried to make us look like best friends, like Peter apparently tries to do now (now that he needs you - but hey, he did the same with me) - trust me, his opinion about you was... unambiguous.


To the code:
Initially, i offered to write the tracker client only, but after i had to realize that Peter was completely unable to code a running server side system, i was forced to rework EVERY bit (and byte) of the EP tracker - even though he has these little neat "MS certified" on his "IT website", he completely killed the server with his work - i think we all know that the site went from "unstable" to "sluggish" to "unloadable" - he might not be familiar with php, but seriously, even his database related stuff wouldn't have passed the quality on even the most simple project i was ever involved in.

I kept that secret for quite a while, even defended that guy against your annoying (multiple PMs daily) bullshit - while all i had to do would be to tell you WHY the database was full of duplicates, WHY nothing worked as it should, WHY even the most simple things didn't work and completely locked down the server (Peters solution: upgrade the VPS, he didn't even THINK about the possibility that his bad code fucked all up, despite my warnings from day 1 - and i've been working my ass off to rework the server side and the old global data - about 99% of it were complete already, and not a SINGLE one of Peters scripts was still in use) - there was NO SINGLE DAY where i didn't curse for hours about the stuff he "coded". (He claimed back on ER that he'd be "no script kiddie" tho... but "no script kiddie" can be pretty much everything...)


So, Starfinder, a big "finger" heading your way, if i say he coded it in less than 10x of the time i needed, this IS suspicious - still, i didn't say he cheated, i just said he may want to make sure noone else does - enjoy that your shitty little tracker lost his biggest competitor, i've seen how much YOU do know about coding, too.

Btw, selling my C++ code for the only working overlay @ boxes - yes, this was all 99% done, too (something you couldn't code with the help of ten of your coder friends either...)

Call me arrogant - but at least i do not pretend to be friends with someone just to make him help me with my noobish website projects - and i didn't spam you with countless PMs, just because i was so envious - the big boys didn't let me play with them on EP.

And that you think you can pop up here and post that shit one day after i left - well, let's just say "very telling", and add a "tasteless" on top.




I reckon Peter will not be able to handle more truth - hence i'll stop this here (not that we've even reached 10% of the story, but the ugly parts are NSFW).

All i want is the payment for "you know what" and once this is settled, i will not ever come back to your little place here again.

 

I have already announced that i will no longer come here - same as i announced that you can run EP w/o me - clearly visible in my first post here, as you chose to misrepresent what happened (which you do again now, but seriously, i dont care anymore) - if that is "your choice" all of a sudden, well... have fun with telling your staff crew what a bad guy i've been, half of them wasn't able to show a minimum of respect (you know who you are) and your lack of professionalism made things escalate - but i already told you that (maybe rethink your "do not address problems"-policy - this is causing you problems with your fellow human beings for years now...)


Expecting your mail on the payment, including what you deem fair and details on the transfer - i SO want to get out of this place.
