Both issues should have been addressed, RC :) Thanks for reporting.

  2. Bringing back forums instead of this... Comment box thing would be much appriciated.
(I mean specific forums for foul, molisk, feffoids etc etc.)

It's on my list of things to do :) I'm hoping to get that done before friday.

    I GOT A CELLPHONE!

They do come in handy sometimes!

Not for now but maybe for the next one, put some sort of limiting sign up procedure along the lines of...

If one tribe's member count is more than twice that of the next highest member count, then new users cant join the higher count tribe.

Just something like this to limit one tribe potentially having 100 players with the other 2 tribes on 6 and 9 ..

Thanks for the suggestion, safara. That has been implemented at one point but was removed. I can easily put it back when we start the next cycle though.

I saw the post regarding the return of the trade aspect, and I would like to mention one thing that occurred to me during the previous implementation.

The tax profile as it was had been designed to discourage stronger players from assisting their weaker tribemates. I think that detracts from the potential for more diverse approaches to the game.

Some people will continue to boost a select few key villages, as we all did then, but it is equally valid to boost the overall capacity of all villages, and the tax mechanism punishes that. A good game should not punish valid and appropriate strategic thinking, in my opinion.

Anyway, I understand that EP staff have a great deal on their plates, so I only ask that you consider this at the time when you are working on that.

    I agree with shadowsong,

Maybe a flat tax rate (maybe 25%) could be used. The only abuse i can forsee from this is if a weak player is attacked by a medium level player then the weak players tribe could build him up rapidly in less than a day to a point where he could compleatly destroy the medium level players population by using the "retaliation period"

A fix for this may be that if anyone receives gold or troops, then any "retaliation privelages" they may have be reset at the time of the transfer.

    Just my thoughts on it.

I am hoping to put in the conquest cycle and forum code tomorrow. Please ensure you save important conversations from the current comments system to prevent them from becoming inaccessible.

I will completely remove the commenting code from the conquest system later on to keep the code to a minimum and managable.

Oh, and thanks for the suggestions. I will take them into account and use the feedback later :)

Excellent point, I had not considered the retaliation. It is possible that the turns will put a reasonable cap on that anyway, but definitely worth taking into account.

    John BD Subwoofers rock.

i would also sugest for diversety a minimum troop of 100 instead of 250 and recruit to 2 turns same as attack, this would require totaly diferent tactics.

Yeah ive been thinking along those lines as well John, I think that would be a good setting for the next game. Though I do also believe that different settings each game are good, so its not necessairly something that should be set in stone for every game.

The CycleTime counter that wizzszz coded before has been put back into place. This should ensure the cycle countdown is more reliable than it is out of the box.

I've been preparing for the migration from the current comments section to the sub forums. I am hoping I can finalize that tonight.

  15. Can someone describe "retaliation period" please ? I was unaware that there was any limit to how often a particular player could be attacked - I've certainly hit the same player more than once in a 24 hour period, so is there actually any such thing ? :bduh:

I'm just a poor ignorant Molisk, such high falutin' tactical stuff makes me scratch my head...

    As I understand it from expereminting during the beta game;

You may only attack someone that is 60% of your own population or greater.

For example if I have 1000population and you have 500, then I could not attack you.

UNLESS you attack me first, then there is a period of time (24hrs?) where I can attack you as much as I want regardless of what size you are.

From what I have found there is no limit to attacking someone much greater than you, its just a stupid idea :P

Please correct me if anyone has observed differently,

I shall be taking down the conquest system briefly while I switch the comments section back to the forums. If all goes well, this should not take too long :)

I'll probably start work on this within 5 minutes...

If all went well, you now ought to be able to post in your private forums again. Should this not be the case, or should you notice anything out of the ordinary, please report this ASAP.

    Thank thee.
