Hey guys. This thread is in light of my recent move from England to Norway to live with my girlfriend of 3 years, whom I met in Entropia while sweating, Freja. I know of many other couples (Lykke and Peter come to mind ;)) who met in Entropia and people who have generally met people through Entropia. So, have any of you guys met other Entropians in real life? What are your experiences?
I only know some people who I told about this game that played a while but have quit now. There is also MistahE (who has a girlfriend he met in EU) who lives very close to me, but I never got around to meet him IRL. I would like to meet some of the people out there and I had planes to visit some of the cities where some of you live and maybe plan a one day IRL meeting, but my holiday days for this year are gone, so that has to be next year. If any of you like that idea let me know and we could arrange something maybe next year.
I havent met anyone yet but I would love to meet some of you guys :) P.S. How does a 16 year old convince his parents to meet people he knows from a game?
"Cultural study trip" ;) Well, admit that does sound better than "Well, this guy who plays a priest and his wife who plays a nun, and they met in this game and are now married, invited me over to Denmark to meet them and have a beer with them and a whole bunch of other people who they really don't know other than by their avatar". If we ever get serious plans for a gathering, though, I'll gladly talk to your parents if that makes them feel better about it. I will try to keep the grunting to a minimum, and I'll promise not to curse more than once every minute. Okay, maybe twice.
if its in the same country or the neighbor country it shouldnt be a problem? depends on how your parents are of course :P im 15 and my parents allowed me to go to sweden to visit an EU friend and his sister for a week - Alone. The trip was "only" 6 hours or so and we had a really good time visiting MAs office, going to Liseberg (Amusement park) and walking around Gothenburg :)
LOL :D That would be very nice of you, sir :) If an adult talks with them they are much more easy to convince.. My parents are very strict at some things, and i think this is one of them :( This here WILL be used to convince my parents if necessary :D Anyway, I don't see this happening in the near future - at least not for me.
I saw you said elsewhere you're from Limburg. My parents live in Dutch Limburg, and we visit them every now and then. If there are more concrete plans for a meetup, and if you think it would help, we could always drop by in advance, so your parents would have some idea of who their son will be dealing with.
I'd say this thread is so filled with care and happiness, showing this alone to your parents should do just fine! :D
