Greetings, I thought I’d introduce myself to this wonderful community you have set up for noobs like myself. Like many that have flooded into this game, I jump on the bandwagon after reading Yahoo News about NEVERDIE and the windfall of money he made playing this game. My end goal is to not be rich but to have a little something for my effort, for sticking around, and playing this game for years to come. I’ve always like the concept of (legally) cashing out of a game once you have gotten bored, or just want some extra crash, and then putting real money (legally) into the game as well. I’ve recently stop playing my last MMO: Eve Online. After gaining 28 million skill points on my main. I decided I did not want to keep paying for a game where my next ship is going to take 200-300 days (real time) to be skilled in, and use the next ship up that cost a little fortune just to buy. Sold off my carebear Nightmare and fittings for a cool 1.5 billion isk (games currency), and put it all into time codes to keep my skill training going; until, I run out of isk. I did not feel like trying for my 4th start down in 0.0 systems to be apart of a pvping alliance, and other forms of pvp just got boring. It will be a nice break not having to replace everything when you die, or get camped in a station by 50 bored pirates all wanting your nice and shiny ship! I am hoping this game has something I am looking for and have been since I quite playing Everquest: oh so many years ago. That boils down to a great group of people that are fun to be around, who would be willing help each other. Being able to go out and do something even if you have only 10 or 30 mins to spend, and does not require a large group of people just to go out doors. I like the fact so many new players are running around screaming, “this game is to hard” and” “I quite“. By being in this community and one day: promoting, and giving back. I hope it will give my the edge over all the new arrivals and the experience to go out and do what I want to do: have fun. I always find it fun to run into people who are new to MMOs in general, or who have a list longer then I have. Some of these include eq, eq2, wow (yes I admit it , just not out-loud ), swg, lotro, lineage II, dark fail err I mean dark fall…., mo, and many, many more. I am also a big fan of SCII. For those looking to adopt a newbie, here I am! I knew form experience its best to have a shorter; rather then, long application, so I have left that to my introduction. Looking forward to meeting more of guys, as I have already ran into a few of you out sweating in Atlantis. Let’s form a group some time and see what we can get done in a few hours. If anyone has any tips or tricks; also, any guides that are a must read. I would really appreciate a link.
Hi there and welcome to Eu and EP. Judging by the way you write your intro I figure you are smart enough to understand what this game has to offer and that you will not be rich in a few weeks. This give you a big edge over some of the new people out there, that have seen the yahoo article and expect to be having a space station in a few weeks. You will find that even you biggest PVP enemies here are your friend if you are in need and that 99% of the people are more then willing to help you out every way they can. Just remember that we are playing for real money here and that people are not so keen on giving stuff away especially when you ask for them. But as I said you sound smarter then that :D Anyway if you have questions feel free to ask them in this forum and if you have something to contribute to the universe please do that to. We are always in need of people telling us their experience as a new player because a lot of us old players forgot how that was a long time ago. Also there is always need for help in the wiki, so if you feel you can contribute with that let us know !
Hey blood. I saw you (AFK) in Port Atlantis earlier as I was coming in from swunting and recognised the name from the forum here. We'll have to hook up soon and have a blast out north of PA, which is where I've been hanging out a lot recently. Thanks for your application in ANF by the way, I'm sure you understand that it's an extremely crazy time even in ANF which, until now, has been a small, relatively unknown organisation. It's all a bit of a shock to the system, so let it blow over and I hope that someone will spot your post here and pick you up for adoption. Otherwise I wish you good luck in finding your own society if you meet some nice people out in the field (just let me know if you do find one). As for Guides, there are plenty out there. I usually just tell people to go explore, do TP Runs and chat a lot. While collecting TPs, you will learn a lot about EU and while chatting you will learn even more. There is a lot more I could say about this but I will be writing a Guide about my suggestions for a successful start in EU shortly, so look forward to that :) Just reading the forums in general, finding out what's going on in Entropia and educating yourself about what has led up to things being the way they are today is a nice idea for you, Guide-wise. Anyway, if you have questions or problems, just PM me (or any other member of Staff I guess) here. I guess since you signed up for ANF, I feel a bit responsible for how you get on and would prefer to help you, but you can also post your questions in the open forum for more advice than one person can give :) Hope to catch you around Port Atlantis soon! Enjoy, Dalas
Hi blood, and welcome ... your introduction was very well done, and we appreciate getting to know you. It also helps any societies looking for new members as well. We have already had an exchange in email regarding the Shameless Theft event, and my suggestion would definitely get out there and do all 6 of the Tasks that have been presented. As I mentioned in the event through, the last piece of the puzzle will be posted in a couple of days, so you should have some time to complete the Tasks and get your name added to the contribution points roster. Looking forward to meeting up with you in game ... there are plenty people here ready and willing to lend help, so don't be shy. :)
@RAZER Thanks, I will keep you in mind if I have any questions that are not answered by wealth of knowledge this form has. Don’t know much about the games PvP yet, but it is defiantly an area I will be looking into once I have built up my skills and gear. I’m wondering, is there any big conflicts over land or clan wars? I'm more of a PvE’er then a PvP‘er, but i love a good time when I’m getting my butt handed to me. @Dalas I more then understand, I cant believe how many people have been posting applications. Reminds me of the first guild I was in. We where flat out cold recruiting in main gathering in Everquest; until, one day we got 22 applications. We quickly switch from cold recruiting to yes/no voting system, just for people to be a qualified applicant. My middle name should have been AFK. This week I have a few midterms , so I am mostly just sweating a mob or two and afking. I more then look forward to any group activates after this week. Just need to make a little ped for a new gun and lots of ammo. Seeing that I burned 3 ped worth in 20 mins the other night, I will need lots! @MindStar9 Thanks for your quick reply to my email, I will more then joining in on the event. I am halfway to the area of the first one. Slowly working my way their. On death #6 I think lol. Learning a lot about the layout of the land, and mob agro in this game. Helps to be a faster leaner when the mobs 1-2 hit you! I’m thinking when I get to the river that leads into the lake I should be about fine. Since most of my travel has been safest around rivers.
PvP is very expensive here, so if you think burning 3 ped in 20 minutes is a lot, you have a lot to learn :D Many PKers spend 3 ped in basically 3 shots if you count all their costs with markup into the equation. Totally understandable :) You're smart, no wonder 2 socs want to adopt you! ;) (PM incoming)
hey there blood! i still have 2 chars in eve and tbh i got fed up with the aggressive nature of the game simply put that no matter where you are you're never safe and work of months can get blown to hell in a few shots. basically try to stay away fom them red dots on my satnav but once i think about it rivers are indeed safer than land. i dont know about any critters in the rivers since i have encoutered those however i did see "steel bird"(i guess those are a good payout to skilled hunters)hover above a river section in one of my trips around. right now entropia is offline and as im at work atm im looking for some written info on skills such as hunting and weapons aswell as what would be a good start on my "to do" list. for now im running around the marina till i get a better sence of what i should and should not do ingame.
Hello Darkmift, For the most part (so far) rivers have been the safest, I even went afk auto-walking for 20 mins without dying. There are some mobs in rivers and sometimes the shore will be crawling with them, so you do have to be careful. On your radar the middle white circle is 30 meters, and that is argo radius for all the mobs I have ran into so far. From the people I have talk too, and what I have read on the forms, your first gun should be opalo. As for gear there are two choices: pixie, or goblin. You can get opalo from the tt vender and the armor is from auction house (most say to not buy tt armor as its junk) Narfi sums it up, I think well in what to do with your first days and goals to have as a new player. http://www.entropiaplanets.com/forums/tutorials-guides-help/1153-goals-new-players-hunting.html If you have not been adopted yet, you should join "adopt a newbie" soc. They do tp runs, and are helpful if you got any questions to ask in game. http://www.entropiaplanets.com/foru...ation/1710-*adopt-newbie*-newbie-society.html blood gor roth
sounds like you got to learn the game wayyy faster than me lol. the armor i was told to avoid at this stage cause my skills are too low and that might cause my armor to decay at a rate that will probably make tend to repairs more than i would care to. i would want to look into opalo but from what i see i dont know whats the point of buying a (L) item as they cannot be repaired. im also told to look for player shops selling items for good competetive prices. i have yet to encounter mobs on the river(if i can i rather swim than walk--safer)but all in all its just keeping my eyes open. and im on the ANF wait list (darkmift dark secondus). p.s. anyone can let me know whats an (F) item and whats a tp run?
(F) means only a female avatar can wear it, (M) means only a male avatar can wear it, (C) means its customizable. So you can have a Shirt(M,C) which means only a male avatar can wear it, and that it can be customized. Customizable items have 1 to 3 zones on them that can be colored and texturized. A tp Run is when an experienced player(or players) takes a new player(or players) exploring to get new teleports added to their map. gl and have fun :) narfi
Someone correct me if necessary but I think with the addition of newbie gear (also from tt) that's outdated - at least if you do solo-hunts. I got myself a Kiwio Mk. II and went for the punies around PA. It's a lot simpler because you can just run into them and shoot away, dont need to look for young or maybe mature because an old (be it a daikiba or merp or snable) kicked my ass when solo-hunting with an opalo ^^ Kiwios are L, Opalos are UL. if you get one you can sell and buy it again and again to get one with good tier increase rates before you actually start using it. may come in handy later.
cheers friend ty for info^^. im thinking of getting new clothes just so i ditch the horrible newbie clothes :)
The cheapest way to a new look is just to repaier the ones you ahve. They will go from tattered grey/brown to shiny bright new orange. There are lots of other options in auction as well though depending on what you want. It is possible to spend alot of money on clothing. (just ask my wife and I :P ) narfi
