In September 2010 we created EntropiaPlanets MediaCenter (EPMC) with MindStar9 in front as the MediaManager. The MediaCenter and the E-Team have been providing the community with a lot of hot front page news, not to forget EntropiaTimes magazine, which is a big success, and will be published 12th of March next time. Unfortunately for us, but great for MindStar, she got a huge real life opportunity to follow a dream, which doesn't allow her to spend too much time on anything else. So, we had to say goodbye to a very dedicated and skilled person in the MediaTeam. With a new exciting year, new planets and news, we carrie on with heads held high, and I will from this date step in as the new MediaManager for our EP MediaTeam. MindStar explained our goals for the future well - and these still stands, so here you get them again: PERHAPS YOU CAN JOIN THE MEDIATEAM? Our goal is to build a MediaTeam large enough to cover the multitude of activities and events within our universe to not only keep the front page at EntropiaPlanets fresh and revolving, but also to keep the community informed - both on forums and in EntropiaTimes magazine. At the moment we are 7 people in the team, doing different kind of tasks, when time allows it. We are looking for the following: Writer/NewsReporter – this position requires an individual to have a good command of the English language. This person will not only write front page articles, but will potentially have the opportunity to write for the EntropiaTimes magazine that is published quarterly. Each person is encouraged to create their own projects, but will also be given the option to accept assigned projects. The news reporting aspect of this position simply means, being tuned into current events and capturing the news as close to when it happens as possible and reporting it. EventReporters - People who can cover the events going on on the Planets. The goal is not to have all the events covered, but at least some of the most interesting events as a beginning. We also look for event-creators/holders who wish to 'cover' their own events - get a brush up, and then get them posted / promoted on the front page. For more info, please pm me. Graphics Artists – this position requires an individual to be adept at creating quality graphics either through PhotoShop, or similar applications for articles, events and other projects. We have a couple people on staff, and potentially a new person being added soon, but Lykke is the person who generally does most of our graphics work. We would like to give her a break now and then, so adding more staff would be of great help. Videographers – this position requires an individual to capture footage within our universe, of events and/or activities, and convert into a video for usage with front page articles when needed. This will most likely be infrequent, but having someone on staff with a great video editing program, and skills to make the videos pop would be appreciated. Photographers – this position requires an individual to capture photos within our universe to be used either with front page articles, or EntropiaTimes magazine projects. The person should have a good eye for composition, and be available to get intimate with our universe. Researchers – this position requires an individual to research data that might be needed for a report or article, and may be either statistics or general information, or perhaps a scouting mission to check out a location within our universe for an event or special project. You never know where we might send you. WikiWookies - We need people with wiki skills to help updating the wiki. With the new planets it's very important the wiki too is updated. The importance, despite other wiki's available, is big, because of the wiki integration to this forum. The goal is to have a dynamic forum where all info is available and connected. Each potential candidate for the MediaTeam will be given a task to complete in their respective skill set as part of the application process. Also, anyone joining the MediaTeam will get full credit for all contributions toward an end product. As a note of interest – all positions are non-paid, and strictly voluntary. However, becoming a MediaTeam member comes with perks and benefits. Perhaps in the future we might be able to revisit this, but for now, it’s voluntary only. Also, there are no required time constraints with regard to how much time you have available to contribute to the center. However, we would like individuals who are able to make consistent contributions without going long periods of time (especially months) in order to help keep the news and information flowing. If you are interested in exploring options with regard to potentially becoming a Media Team member, please send an email to lykke@entropiaplanets.com Or pm me here on this forum :) Thanks
I wish the team good luck and I might consider eventually a position there. My kudos for the effort to make this a better universe. :)
Let me just say that the current E-Team is awesome and a hard working crew for sure. I have enjoyed my time with them, and couldn't have asked for better leaders than Lykke and Peter. I'm not totally abandoning the Media Team, but remaining a part of it and giving my support as time permits. I just won't be able to do any more writing as it pertains to the front page or magazine, which is unfortunate, but I am excited about finally having the time and opportunity available to do the kind of writing project I've wanted to do for a long time, so for me, this is a win/win situation. I still get to hang out with the E-Team and help when I can; especially marathon editing of the magazine with Lykke, and anywhere else I can be supportive that doesn't take up a lot of time. I will still be a part of this universe, but just not as public as I have been over the past 5-1/2 years. I also won't be posting at all the forums either, except for maybe EP and Arkadia once in a while. The community will learn of my project in time, but for now it is under wraps, and this is the week that I will be jumping into it full speed ahead. :) The Media Team is in good hands, and for those interested and who have something to offer, I would highly recommend exploring your options. A HUGE thank you and gratitude to Lykke and Peter, as well as the E-Team for the support. You guys rock!
That sounds great, Salix :) Not only do we need pictures for the news and the Magazine - but we definitely could need a good photography for the Wiki ^^
Bumped up for some great people. Really love the stuff you guys produce and all the work put into it!
