Marie and I will be starting an Advice Column for the Entropia Times Magazine. Since March will be the first publishing to include our column no one really knows about it, and so we have not received any questions. This is your chance! Deadline for questions will be Feb 6th. You can either post your question in this thread or PM me here on the forum. Questions can be serious or comical, Advanced or Basic, they will all be reviewed and selected for what will fit in our column. While there is no guarantee that any one question will be included we will do our best. We will still try and answer any serious questions even if they are not included in the column. With your question please let us know if you want your name attached, or if you wish to remain anonymous when published. Looking forward to what you guys have to ask, TFT
OK, I think I have an almost decent question. It may be a stupid question though, but I like being a guinea pig. I have been playing for all of two months, and I've been to the entropedia.info website and looked at the armor guide. Currently I am doing the 500 foul (up to guardian), and the 500 merp missions( not sure what I can handle here, I've only encountered up to old), and I have kobold armor. I probably should be using something lighter but I am not really sure, also I sometimes meet argos (I've taken down a couple Guardians with some healing required), along the way. So my question: Is there a good and easy way to match my skills with several different armor types to make it easier to choose what armor may be used with the different mobs I will encounter in the universe? Something like a spreadsheet where I can input the various figures and get recommendations as to what could be a choice of several different sets. Or did I miss something on entropedia?
Entropedia: Tools: Armor vs Mobs Is this what your looking for? I use it alot. You can add any combination of armor and armor plates, and then see what your average or max dmg and cost per hit will be against any mob you select. hope that helps, narfi
I've seen that, yes. But shouldn't you match your armor to your defense abilities as well? That way a person does not buy armor they should not be using since the decay cost is to high. That would be what I'm looking for. I should not buy armor that is not suited to my noob abilities, dodge 3 and evade 287. That way I know what I should be able to use, and then there fore make a better choice as to what is available to hunt so it's not out of my league, like argo hunter is. Currently I see no easy way to do that. Thanks for the help though, it's very much appreciated.
I am not sure how other people do it, but I choose a mob based on my offensive skills/weapon first. Then I look into the most economical way to defend myself. One of my first big purchases as a new player was Kobold armor. I had been on team hunts killing feffoids and really liked them, so I found the best armor for them and saved up until i could purchase it. (I was still a non-depositor at the time so it took a while) I bought 10ped of ammo for my opalo (my normal run size at the time) and went out to find a feffoid to kill. We stood toe to toe for a while neither of us really hurting the other before I realized I was just wasting my ammo and took off my armor and let it kill me. So now I pay attention to what I can kill efficiently first, then worry about the best way to armor up for them. Hope that makes sense, narfi
Yes sir it does, although I get in the "kill em all mode" at times, thus the hunter incident since I was not really thinking. Called myself a DA and went on. Thank you for the info.
Good question KillerDog and thanks for answering for him narfi. We are looking for more questions for the advice column, either post them here or pm me. TFT
Hey Forum Troll ... oh and Marie :D I have a question of something which is really bugging me! I'm on Next island, and I loot a lot of crystals. They are huge and in different shapes and colors. But when they are refined they all look alike (though have different colors - but 15 different crystal can have the same red color and look when refined). It makes it very difficult to see the difference! So ... how is that?? Thank you Oh wise Troll and Marie!
