Ho hum. Another new planet. Different mobs, no economy and ubers scooping the new blueprints. Personally I was waiting for the first few patches before venturing to Arkadia, but found it wasn't necessary. Blueprints dropping on the first day - it only took a few months for RT. TPs guarded with turrets - a few months for NI to get that one right. No Neverdie in sight - this is a huge plus. The new mobs seem to be 2 or 3 lvl 8 average exa/snable/shinkiba types, and a lot of lvl 35 + big ugly mobs. Oratans were a nice find, since I brought my bot gear. Overall the first impression for me is very good, but I will not make it my home. The terrain graphics are almost the same as Calypso, so sometimes I don't know which planet is which just from a photo. I also want to give a big thanks to Dave Ozi for launching while mining is seriously screwed up. So I'll pick up all the tps, do the noob missions, and head back to Calypso. Note: Went back to Calypso - PA - and had an out of memory crash less than 5 minutes. Maybe I should head back to Arkadia.
I went on last weekend and actually liked it. Explored and mined out in the desert region. Met a few people -- even the CEO, David. Great start for a new planet. A
Im a big fan!! It has that feel about it that I missed about Calypso when I first started. :cloud9:The dedication of the people behind the scenes is evident and the quick responses on the forums just add to the entire picture!! :wavespin: Haven't had much luck but I wasn't having much luck on Calypso either. :ooh: The difference being, I am enjoying the game as it is and not wondering when I should make my next depo!!
thank you. I am little bit harsh here, but I hope I can make "Arkadia after 30 days" and be all positive.
I had a few friends leave after being disappointed with the last update and mob nerf.. I haven't hunted since the last update so I don't have an opinion yet, we'll see this weekend
still home but getting serious doubts now after things got darned agresive not letting me hunt in my own pace, also feels like decay whent way up on armor after this "tweak". hope they change it back next update
I think it would be a good thing to go to the Arkadia forum and see what Dave has to say about the changes with the mobs - he does listen. :)
Good call Mindstar. The thread is here. Most of it is the shock that the high hit point, low aggro mobs don't like annoying humans around anymore. http://www.arkadiaforum.com/showthread.php?1141-A-Team-Really-What-were-u-guys-thinking
I love the communication from Arcadia team, that means a lot to me after so long being soft soaped. Housemate already packing his storage to move there permanently, i will decide today. I love the design of weapons and armour, but everything is very raw at moment which is to be expected. Also lack of things for new players in terms of mobs kinda worries me for retention and growing of economy there. My heart says go, but something in the back of my mind stops me from 100% being sure where i will make home tomorrow. 50/50 whether i make the permanent jump over.
The space VU complicates things. Planet-based auctions and teleporters disabled for interplanetary travel make the decision more difficult. The Clash - Should I Stay or Should I Go www.youtube.com/watch?v=LZBPu7jJbJU
Hi, one month later. I have decided I'm an Arkadian now. I love this planet. I love the way the dev's are communicating with us. Most of all. This is a very new experience, unknown to me yet. I love the landscape. It's coming close to the landscape of the old Eudoria. I love it this much more compared to the endless canyons, unclimbable mountains and other landscape obstacles we suffered on Calypso. From the little hunting I did yet, there seems to be a nice "mob ladder". Few loot, but this isn't the A-teams area. I love the mining. With a bit of planning, I can run for hours dropping bombs. And I enjoyed nice results in ore yet. This video isn't available in my country due to some mad restrictions from the content industry. Doesn't matter, I have decided anyways. Let's rock the Casbah instead! Try this cover version made by ppl that actually showed us how to do it. My respect to them! Enjoy! And power to the people! Have a good time!
Got a full tt CAP-404 Arctic last night. Whats not to like about that? :P I think they are doing a good job, narfi
