The auction also changed since last time. Now you have an auction called *Global* - with the Motherships in it. I needed some crafting materials, and they where not in the Arkadia Auction (which is where I am). But I keep getting fails if I try and buy from another planet. Before you could buy, and pay the transport - now you can't even do that. This totally ruins crafting on the planets, where there yet are not enough players and where auction is near dead - if you do not have a possibility to buy from other planets auctions. How does this work now? What am I missing out here? Also noticed there is an auction section named 'Planet Arkadia Underground' and both Hell and Ancient Greece and Space has their own auction sections...
Yeah, it's a bummer. For selective items I was perfectly willing to pay a few ped if the transport costs weren't too retarded now they want me to travel about like a willing little lemming. Two words to MA: Umad Bro?
With the update the auction system changed - and here is a quote directly from the MA Buzz: . Which means, that we have to work together to be able to get the resources needed for crafters to continue working at the level they are used to. It's going to be the same for all planets, and some ingredients for blueprints will not all be available on one planet. For example: Welding Wire - there are 4 ingredients (I believe) and I think we have them all but the Alternative Ingot that is on RT. However, Calypso and Next Island would be missing the Arkadia ingredient, as well as the RT ingredient. This new system was definitely intentional. Also, as mentioned in the quote - we can see everything in auction, but we cannot even make a bid on an item that is not on Arkadia. We have to actually be on the planet where the item is in auction and bid and collect it there if we win the bid. However, as also mentioned - MA items will be available across the universe to bid on, like the Motherships and other MA items that might be posted so that everyone has an opportunity to bid on them without having to travel to other planets. Unfortunately, it's going to make it more difficult for crafters, but I kind of like that we are forced to put our stuff in the Arkadia auction for the use of Arkadians, and - while Calypso may have the majority of players right now, it appears that only Arkadia developers are actively doing something about bringing in more people, so hopefully it won't be that long before we see our population increase. That's about it in a nutshell.
what ores do you need? what do you craft? might be nice to start doing the miner-crafter deals again and not need the traders that much :) If i have time i mine everyday, find 3-4 miners and you should be supplied enough...or play with the traders...
So, does this mean that auction history is now also on a per-planet basis, or will I still see Calypso statistics included when I am on Arkadia? Filed a support case to find out:
Then we need space traders and Auction specific for the space area. WE need to establish a trading post in one of neutral space station and give it a name I guess. I think think this will increase prices though depending on demand.
No it's universal, I checked a few items out and they have MU from other planet sales added into the mix. This needs fixing if each planet is going to have it's own economy.
That's a good question Peter, and logically, as FatherJack says, perhaps it's best if each planet shows only its own auction history, but then that brings up other things for me - especially when it comes to crafting. When a crafter needs ingredients that are only available on other planets, then we won't know what the history is until we travel to that planet and use that auction. If you were using a trade service, rather than traveling to other planets yourself, then it would make it rather difficult to know how much it's going to cost you. In this case, I would definitely require some screenshots of the auction item from the trader service for verification of cost, and this could get rather tricky? Maybe there's some way we could see our own planet auction history, as well as a universal history? Is that even something we need?
I am on Arkadia, where I have tried to craft since the planet was released. Yes, in the beginning it was difficult, but I bought things in auction for the fee, and put the things for sale on auction again after. It still cost me a bucket loads of money, but hey, I could craft. Yesterday I wanted to craft some furnitures-bp's I looted. I needed some simple oiled boards. Nothing in auction. I wanted to craft something else, and needed some ores, which normally comes from Calypso. Nothing in auction. I looked through my whole lot of bps to find something I could craft, but had to give up. Now I am forced to spend 80 PED to go to another planet, buy it from auction there and then pay the trip back - with the chance of getting looted. And it's even more frustrating when you don't want to leave the planet you 'live on'. I could understand it if the planets all had a healthy economy already - but they don't. It is clever of MA/whoeverowns-ownedPlanetCalypso though, because everyone is stranded there again. I heard it on forums, and in game - that people move back to Calypso now. At least, that's where crafters can get their resources and materials - and if that's where the crafters go, that is where the miners and hunters go. I am frustrated over this, because I can't afford to travel around like that, nor do I have the possibility of looting/mining my own materials. Some say you have to work with others. Fine - but I'm really anti social in game and when I'm crafting I have a x-amount of limited time and just want my things to be available and not be dependent on other people :( Sorry - I love the fact we have 'Space' - but I dislike all the other 'features' which turned out to 'appear' at the same time.
Get the planet partners to build us a RCE game. I dont care if its only one neighborhood and has only one moob. I am not paying peds to travel. I pay enough to hunt and put on clothes and pretend to have a place to live. At least let me have the option to gain enough skills to travel for free somehow. I enjoy the game. Ive waited and waited. I am not paying 80 peds to travel. Its not going to happen. Ive allways known this was a rich persons game but there was allways the option to no pay all the extra stuff and just run around on foot. I dont own a vehicle with flight. I dont own clothes. I dont own anything but 1 set of armr, and one fun item to wear and one netbuggy and one allways empty shop. The rest of my peds I spend on hunting and helping others enjoy thenselfs. With space and other planets I cannot go to; I feel like im in prison or jail. This undermines the whole concept for me. I have been addicted to this game because I could go anyplace and feel free. I dont feel free anymore! It is not an escape for me. I cant visit rocktropia when I want or arcadia or even my own shop on the astroid. I am stuck unless I pay. I feel that way in life. I came to entropia to explore and feel free. They have taken that. Im tempted to play some other RCE game. I wish the planet partners would build a new one. For the first time i am going to check out this forums thread on RCE game and see what I can find. Entropia had me forever. Why would they lock doors on me? If I had that kind of money I would go on a boat in the pacific ocean about 30 miles from me. Just checked and it seems Entropia is still the most advanced of the RCE games. They had best stop charging me for eveything I do. Its not costomer friendly.
I hear you, Lerp. Problem is (and advantages for MA) that there are not many RCE games 'out there'. But there ARE other online games where you ARE able to 'earn' money, but it is not build up like a real cash economy game - based on players supply and demand. Then again, I'm about to feel EU isn't that either since too much is been ruled through the games settings and MA.
80 ped round-trip fee was for teleporting... Which, of course, I hope you are aware was also shut down. You may be able to travel cheaper if you can find a pilot looking to do a round trip trading run...
Yes, I'm aware it's shut down. On Arkadia I saw the 80 PED fee which is why I said that - but of course that can varie. It will still be a lot more expensive, than if I had to pay the fees in auction on my items + I would have to travel all the time. I do not have the needed money to buy a lot up and go to a planet to craft for x-amount of weeks, to then just to back again. I won't have to, of course. I could just move back to Calypso - which is exactly the point. I don't want to live on Calypso and was happy I could move. But as a crafter I feel I'm forced to if I don't want to spend a bucket loads of extra money. And that is a shame and doesn't give the smaller / newer planets any advantages.
Lykke I recieved my EntropiaTimes today. I feel better now. To be truthfull, it has allways been the players here that kept me enjoying it. This is because the players put so much time and effort into it. Ive allways had issues with entropia but thats allways been ok with me and with them. Ive allways felt alittle pennyless here but thats ok too. It makes it more real to me. I was just upset that I will have to pay to visit and enjoy the other planets. I hope with time this extra income they get will allow them to build up the loot pool more as people will be spending money in other areas. Its great to have more options. I cant travel for free in RL. So it all fits. I am sorry to have asked the planet partners to build a RCE game. They have allready put work into it and it is here and I thank them for that. I just have to find a way to enjoy it all. If it is 1 year from now or 5 I will be uber and visit every spot in the univers. Now I am going to go read my EntropiaTimes and check out the poster. Ill try not to get upset to often. I want what I want when I want it. How may times did I, say I and want.
Your words are inspiring Lerp, and I enjoy reading your posts. I have no doubt that you will be able to visit the other planets, and perhaps sooner than you may anticipate. I also agree with you that it's the community that is so important in this universe, and for me, that really puts it all into perspective. It's been that way for the 6 years I have interacted with this universe, and I don't expect it to change anytime too soon. :)
The problem is that their is an "inbalance" between the ores/enmatters we need to craft and the ores we can find on the planets like Arkadia. Many of the bp need some "generic" MA ores mostly found at Calypso. On Arkadia most of the finds are Arkadia specific ores, so we get on inbalance between the ores we actually needs and what we find on the planet. A solution to this is to increase the spawn of "MA ores" on Arkadia and decrease the Arkadia ores a bit. When we have more Arkadia bp:s that can be used as an alternative to the generic stuff, like some Arkadia vehicles and space ships, they could change back more Arkadia ore again. At the same time, the unbalance creates trade so when the ships are cheapier the trade will pick up and even out the unbalance. A quastion, is it still only max two sell pages/avatar on the auction, or can i have two pages on each planet?
