Wish List

  1. If all the planets in the Entropia Universe are to survive and prosper we must allow the players easy and inexpensive (and safe) travel between them. What I would like to see MA do is provide limited teleporters to let us travel between planets. The tp would be limited in that they will not transport any vehicles, any living materials (Lumis Leach, Caroot, pets, etc), and only a limited amount of weight. We want the players to travel freely but with just the bare essentials. These limited teleporters should be free, free transport would greatly benefit everyone, but I think most players would be willing to pay a small (not more than 5 PED) fee for their use.

We don't want to hurt the space ship owners so I would invent shipping containers. Let players rent/buy a container and pay a pilot to fly it to a particular planet where it would become part of the player’s inventory upon its arrival. Anything could be shipped in the containers, vehicles, pets, other players, etc. The containers could come in different sizes so you could ship just your car or everything you own. To keep everyone honest and to protect the player’s investments the containers would be exempt from looting while being transported.

  2. An alternative would be to have the teleporters in a ring configuration, i.e. from Calypso you could only teleport to Rocktropia; from Rocktropia only go to Next Island; Next Island to Arkadia; and from Arkadia to Calypso. This teleporter arrangement would really benefit the planet owners so I think it should be completely free, supported by the planet owners.

To maximize the benefits to the planet owners I would have dedicated send and receive teleporters on each planet. For example the send tp on Calypso might be at Twin Peaks. When activated the player would find themselves on the receive tp in City of Dreams on Rocktropia. To leave Rocktropia the player would have to travel to Tangerine and activate the send teleporter located there. The player would now be on the receive tp in Crystal Center on Next Island. To continue his journey he would have to travel to Tanzanite View to find the send tp. From there he would travel to the receive tp on Arkadia. The send tp on Arkadia would be at a different location and would transport the player back to Port Atlantis on Calypso. As new planets come on line they would be placed in the ring between Arkadia and Calypso.

I would keep the weight and item limits on the teleporters, and have shipping containers to support the pilots. The containers could only be sent planet to planet, but the space ships can fly to asteroids and space stations so there would still be passenger traffic in space.

  3. The whole game needs to become more realistic. Let’s start with loot. In real life if you go deer hunting you don’t kill 8 or 10 deer before you get some venison, you get some meat, bones, a skin, etc. with every kill. My record is 15 consecutive kills with no loot, yet at the same time some other player got a 76,000 PED global. MA, if you want to keep more players you need to make loot payout more realistic. I feel that 99% of all animal kills should give loot. Many more small loots, more medium sized globals, and very few gigantic globals. And the loot should be more realistic, fish should loot fish oil not animal oil. We can loot alien acid (kreltin, Aurli) but not animal acid, (Snablesnot, Fungoid).

MA you spent a whole lot of money when you went to CryEngine in order to make the visual effects more realistic, but too many of the game rules are 10 years old.

  4. I can take my 10 year old grandson to Wal-Mart; buy a wooden stool, some paint and a paint brush. When we get home my grandson can paint that stool and make it look ok, maybe not professional, but ok. And he can paint in any color, black, white, green, orange. The in game coloring skill is totally unrealistic. Only two or three players can paint in black and only after millions of tries. And I don’t paint clothes, I dye them. The coloring skill needs to be split into painting and dyeing and made more realistic. You paint objects, you dye clothes. And why are we looting cans of paint, why can’t we loot red, green and blue pigments and make our own paint and dye.

  5. Let’s put more people to work. There are too many underutilized resources in the game, space ships sitting in their hangers, beauty shops sitting empty, and retail stores with additional inventory available but not on display. Let’s provide a way to let other players use them and provide the owner a nice return on their investment.

    Employees part one

To allow business owners to schedule employees and to help prevent fraud we would issue to the owners seven unique uniforms. One uniform should be easily identified as the business owner. The other six would identify authorized representatives of that business. The uniform would consist of only a coat or jacket, and would have to be worn to operate the business even by the owner. Three of the uniforms would only function Monday through Friday, and the other three could only be used on Saturday and Sunday. One of the three uniforms would operate from midnight to 0800; a second would operate it from 0800 until 1600, and the third from 1600 until midnight. This would allow the owner to utilize six players to operate his business 7 by 24. The owners outfit would have no time constraints. The business owner could recall any uniform at any time for any reason.

Beauty shop owners might receive smocks, a more appropriate outfit for this type of business.

For space ship owners we might want to provide a complete pilot uniform, coat, shirt with tie, pants, and shoes, an outfit to make them look professional.

  6. Employees part two

Retail store owners should have the option to buy a storage unit for the store. The unit would function like the personal storage facility but would be used for store inventory and only by the seven authorized users. For retail stores the employees would be available to answer questions, present to the shoppers additional inventory items from the storage unit and to encourage other players to visit the store. All of the inventory would be priced in advance by the owner. Employees could not engage in private trades during their shift. (Retail work is not very exciting so we may want to issue more uniforms, each with reduced work hours; maybe four hour shifts Monday through Thursday and Friday through Sunday.)

    To protect the players:

Before the space ship owner could issue any uniforms he would have to repair and fuel the ship to 100%.

Beauty shop owners would have to have all equipment (body sculpting tool kits, face sculpting chairs, hair stylist chairs) fully repaired and the shop rent current.

I would define beauty shop as any location that is in a shop, not in an apartment or home and has one or more body sculpting tool kits and/or face sculpting chairs and/or hair stylist chairs and the equipment is used in a business by a qualified person and is not for sale.

  7. Employees part three

    To protect the property owner:

Before any player could accept a pilot uniform or a beauty shop smock, that player would have to deposit into a bank a specific amount of money, and would have to maintain a certain minimum amount in that account. If his balance drops below the preset minimum, either because of withdrawals or lack of deposits, his uniform would automatically return to the property owner.

When a space ship returns to its hanger the ship would automatically repair to 100% and the repair cost would be automatically withdrawn from the pilot’s bank account. Like any land owner the hanger owner would tax the use of his ship and receive a percentage based on the decay cost paid directly to him from the pilot’s bank account at that time. Before a pilot could leave the hanger they would have to fully fuel the ship but they would be given the option of using their own fuel or buying it from the owner. The pilot would be free to set his own rates and payment methods for his services.

In a beauty shop the player would have the option of using his own supplies or buying them from the owner. When they exit the shop all the equipment would automatically repair to 100% and the cost would be immediately deducted from the player’s bank account. The shop owner would receive a payment from the player’s bank account based upon the decay of the equipment at the same time. Again the player would be free to set his own rates and payment methods for his services.

While in a retail store uniform the player’s personal trade window will not open. (An option might be to allow the employed player to sell his personal inventory while on duty in lieu of any wages. But while in uniform they have to pay the same taxes as a store sale would.)

They will have 1 argument to just ignore everything you just wrote here: less revenue.

Though it will only be short-term, in the long-term they will earn more. Probably.
Because people will stay longer and don't feel like they're being robbed.

You have some great suggestions, with which the community would largely agree. But MA/FPC/WTFTNIN (Whatever The Fuck Their Name Is Now) wouldn't. Because it means less income in the short-term.
