Whow, very late I am - nevertheless, a big phat Congratz! to both of you, my best wishes to Lykke especially (she has the job now, Peter has done his part ...), may it go smooth and w/o any problems! And my deepest sympathy to both of you, you'll be very busy for some more years to come. May the good times compensate the unavoidable moments of irresistible rage, and may you have the power to keep calm and lovingly. Have a good time! (as long as still possible ;-))) )
WOW - Guys - sorry for the late reply - I have been pulled thin with a lot of real life work and a 120 km wireless network is no playground. Now remember Lykke - EAT LOTS OF CHOCOLATE!!!! a note to Peter - Keep those chocolates coming... MindStar9 knows what I say about chocolate and I think it will be shared in the future - hint hint MS9 - But guys, from my little corner of the world - May your days be filled with love, peace and much laughter. If a high quality magazine and a beautiful community website run by state-of-the-art forum software, with a huge knowledgebase, news articles and interviews spanning the whole universe and beyond is not sufficient to get you on the eu.com website then try making children:
Woooooot! Great news Peter and Lykke. A big congratulations from Arkadia Studios. I'm so happy for you guys. Can't wait for the pictures =)
Thank you everyone for the great wishes :) It warms my heart and huge tummy (yes, I feel it's huge already ...) It's a little rough, no doubt. I have a lot of nausea - especially at night, in the morning, after I ate something, during the day and in the evening - but other than that, I'm fine I feel extremely hungry all the time - but after I ate something I have nausea again !!! So it's a thrill, as you can imagine! On the other hand is it also very life-affirming and we are looking forward to late September like crazy. The two girls, Amanda (9) and Sarah (19) are both thrilled and very happy about it. Especially Amanda, because she was annoyed she was the little one - now she can get some revenge ... And the fun thing is, there will be 10 years in between them all - how about that lol (0, 10 and 20 when baby is born). And Peter ... well, if Peter could have a tattoo on his forehead saying 'Proud Daddy To Be' - he would have - no doubt. I've been hushing him when we went to places because he would tell the world =) I love that he loves it and that he can't wait (except him still believing it's twin boys ... he'll be wiser though). I believe being able to be a mom and dad is a blessing. And we're truly blessed. Anyway, we bought the baby's first clothes today! And yes, SO long time still - but hey, then time goes faster :D Little body-thingie is saying 'Hello, I'm new here' - and the dusty blue fluffy things are ... NewShoes :D
Went for the first scan today. 8+6 weeks old mini freckle ... Saw the heart beat and the little one jump. It was a huge experience and now we can better relax and just enjoy pregnancy (riiiiight) and look forward. You can clearly see he/she has Peter's nose and my @ss
Ands to those wondering, I'd tell you what that huge thing sticking up is, but I'd be breaking my own forum rules. Also, what you cannot see is that in the same picture, it's ninja brother is hiding straight above it.
Just a small, cosy update =) We went to a new scan Monday. It was a so called nuchal fold scan, where they measure the baby. Together with some blood tests they determine if there's a risk for Down Syndrome or other illnesses. Of course there will always be a risk, but if your numbers are 300 or less you will be offered some extra more valid tests. Mine was almost 800 and despite my age (42) just as healthy as if I was 27 =) Freckle was very active and hyper and bounced around, wriggling arms and legs! It was awesome :) We are getting a new, special heart scan in week 21, because Peter was born with a heart failure (forgot the name) - and it will be very fun to see how 'big' the baby is then. But you can now much better see it IS a baby (I think ... lol) - and there is ONLY one (Peter did ask if they could find the Ninja too ... ) Length from head to butt is 6cm =)
Thanks for sharing Lykke ... that's just awesome! Can't wait to be an Auntie! Still gotta shop for the purple surprise! I wish you the very best with this journey.
It's called Coarctation of the Aorta. In short, my aorta was too narrow at one point, thus preventing blood from flowing the normal way. When I was 2, I received surgery where they replaced the narrow part of the Aorta with a small tube. I have a huge scar going from my back all the way around to under my left nipple (heh heh. I said nipple), but that's about the only actual proof of it. A few years ago I was going in for minor surgery, and due to my condition they insisted I would visit a cardiologist. After running on a treadmill for 10 minutes and the cardiologist listening to my heart, the guy asked me if he had the right file, because other than a very feint rush, he couldn't hear or see anything. My parents inquired back in the days whether this was hereditary, which back they were told was not the case. There's been a lot of research done over the last few decades, though, and while we do not think it poses an additional risk (from a 1% chance, it becomes 2%), the scan is covered by our health insurance (Hurray for 50% tax on everything you make and 25% VAT. Here, have a 50 USD complimentary scan as a compensation), and we just want to know for sure nothing is wrong.
