    Early in March 2012 just before Planet Arkadia Update 2012.3 Planet Arkadia CEO David Dobson gave two radio interviews within three days.

    Many thanks to the radio stations especially the DJ and very special thanks to David.


    Atlas Haven Radio

    The first was on Atlas Haven Radio by Zume on 08 March 2012 at 15:00h EUT.

    It is the 4th in a series of interviews by Zume, each a few days before the next major Planet Arkadia Update.

    Normandie Radio

    This interview is announced to be "quite different". We are a curious.

    Notes covering ~1/3 of the AHR interview:


    Shops & apartments
    • shops & apartments have been remade
    • deeds will be added to auction following next week's update
    • depending on demand, at least 10 shops, ~200 apartments at Celeste Harbour to be auctioned over time
    • some apartments include the ownership of the roof of the building
    • additional Arkadia furniture in the May update
    Map
    • ingame map will be improved, high resolution
    • terrain will have more diverse colors

    2 new reatures in next week's update
    • Nusul, a little bit more difficult than Exarosaur, big spawns west of Celeste Harbour,
    • another lower mid level creature
    • new Texture BP will be added too
    Vehicles in next week's update
    • craftable customizable Hoverpods will be added
    • better stats than the NPE Hoverpods






    Notes covering ~half of the NR interview:


    Marketing Campaign
    • ads in the form of a 30 second video, end with a link to the registration page
    • currently US, Singapore & Australia
    • different start screens
    • kind of test phase to find out what type of marketing works best in what country
    Arkadia Underground
    • in development since pre-launch, not planned to be implemented on launch or even be visible.
    • Treasure Hunting first
    • will be an 8x8km server area
    Treasure Hunting
    • like mining with more chance of getting items, SOOTO system
    • designed as a king of premium end of mining
    • if not items you can find ancient arkadian materials
    Celeste Harbour
    • all blocks redesigned to be 6 storeys high
    • shops on the ground floor (37 blocks -> 37 shops)
    • shops with 10 to 20 item points display area
    • limited number but more than 10 will be in auction
    • penthouse appartments include ownership of rooftops
    • rooftops are seperate area with their own item limit
    Sanctury Cove
    • will receive shops and appartments too
    • those will be part of the estate
    Piracy
    • huge negative impact on Arkadia when space came in
    • BPs had to be adjusted to use ingredients to be found on Arkadia to counteract the negative effect on the Arkadian economy
    New Creatures
    • Nusul
    • Oratan Slasher, new Oratan, easier to hunt than the current Oratan, blue clothes
    Long Term Plan
    1. Treasure Hunting
    2. Instances
    3. Smuggler Update incl. Missions, instances, items, etc
    Land Deeds
    • incredibly expensive way to raise capital
    • there seems to be little reason to do
    • maybe something similar for player participation

    I don't like you poll choices so my answer would be........I will try and listen to the NR one seeing its on a Saturday and I wont be working and I already told Isclay I might :)

    So unless i forget or something comes up that is the one I will listen too. So I hope David saves some juicy secrets for then :)

    Hi Everyone ...

    Just to let everyone know this is not a NR vs AHR but there will be listners that cant tune in to zume tomorrow and vise versa ..so this will give you the choice of who you may be able to tune in to..

    Dj Isclay will cover some base important questions to do with the forthcoming VU but will cover some other stuff besides ...which should make for very intresting listening.

    we will be recording the interview and will make it available to listen to for the people that cant tune in ..we will be taking live questions but please keep them to the point ..

    Hey Guys

    Gotta echo Mel's post....its not a case of them vs us. Altho Im a DJ for NR I will try and listen into Zume's interview because I am sure that both she and Isclay will have different questions, a different interview style and take on the matter....so should be interesting listening all round.....the way I see it is this....EU is a big ole place and there is enough room for more than one radio station out there....more stations equals more musical genres and dj styles and gives the listeners CHOICE....plus a little healthy competition never hurt anyone!!!...if anything it will make us strive to produce even bigger and better events/shows/interviews which can only be good for the listeners!!!

    Sounds like it is finally getting the stuff to make the planet a whole planet. I can see Arkadia picking up some steam and making a direct competition towards Caly!! :thumbsup:

    LoL rather not say I was in the weird part of youtube again, but it had nothing to with EU or games though. But when I clicked the ad it took me to a ark page with that new trailer.

    The plugin is not compatible with 64 bit Windows, so could not play the interviews. AHR should make a YouTube link in case this happens...

    Not true... I run Windows 7 64bit And I run the website fine.. Try updating your Java.. That helps for a lot of ppl having trouble.. Ofc wont help with the interview now, but for future.. I'll be making a download link for the recorded show rdy sometime this weekend.. (I got kiddy weekend, so dunno when)

    Works fine for me with firefox, haven't tried with Internet Explorer (cos I think it's crap :p). boo.
