Hello everyone, I will be hosting a Choose Your Own Adventure game, or CYOA. The way it works is that I will be writing a story about you, the main character, and at the end of this story I will give you all a few options for what you can do. At the end of this 'chapter' I will give all of you a list of options you can choose to do. All of you need to vote on which action you wish to take, and you may add in a new option (or slightly modify one of mine) if you are not happy with the choices I gave. If you wish to change your choice please edit your post (and make sure to note that you edited). After a few hours to a few days (depending on how many people voted and how long the passage was) I will return, tally up the votes, and write a new part to the story based on what you voted. If you have any questions about this, do ask, in the meantime lets gets this started! You slowly open your eyes, a sharp pain is felt in your head and promptly you shut your eyes tight. You try to put your hand to your head for comfort, but you feel unable to move the hand. You slowly open your eyes and adjust to the bright light above you. The white field above you slowly fades into a bring lamp shining down on your head. Looking around you find yourself in a small room with cement walls and ceiling of a dull grey. You seem to be lying on a flat uncomfortable bed, and upon further investigation you find your hands and feet to be restrained with some cold iron handcuffs to the bed. A reinforced iron door is on the wall ahead of you and you seem to spot a camera in the corner of the ceiling looking straight down at you. Do you A. Scream for help. B. Try to get out of your restraints. C. Wait patiently for something to develop. D. Laugh hysterically. E. Other (Please describe)
Sounds great. Reminds me a lot of the books by Steve Jackson I still have lying around somewhere on my parent's attic, where, armed with a pair of dice, one read a book, and was refered back and forth between chapters based on choices made and dices rolled. I pick option B, by the way.
I choose number B AFTER getting a claustrophobic panic .. of course (is this when you suddenly see this HUGE spider crawling up from the side of the bed towards your face????)
I like this choice based story. Very good idea. I don't know why everyone is picking B. Obviously the restraints are not going to give, unless the handcuffs are unlocked or something (which is highly unlikely). I suppose that's the first thing anyone would try though. So i pick option B ;)
E) Quite obviously someone wants me to stay there. Either they want me good or bad, if bad things are the intention then I won't pleasure them with futile escape attempts, also if good things are the intention they will have a reason. So I will wait calmly, but I'll also say a loud "Hello I am awake" towards the camera and will move from time to time so they note me being awake.
8 B's 1 D 1 E Looks like we have a general consensus here. Well to the next chapter: You try moving your hands again, pulling hard on the cuffs, but no amount of pressure seems to be doing a trick. Lightly, you throw a kick but you foot is held back as the cold iron digs into your bare flesh. You look around at the bleak surroundings, and feel a shiver run down your spine as you realize just how cold you are. Who are you? Why are you here? What is going on? These questions and many more fill your mind, your pounding mind. The headache, The cold, the bleak place you are in! You cannot take it! This CANT BE RIGHT! You feel an surge of energy get in you, you must get out of here! With renewed passion, you start the struggle. Heavy breaths follow you as you pull against your restraints with all your might. You kick, you scream of rage, you jerk with everything you have. You keep pulling even as the iron of the cuffs begins to squeeze deep into the flesh of your wrists, cutting right in. You have no idea how long you go at it but you continue, though you start to feel exhaustion coming over you. You... A. cannot give up, the restraints will budge, I know they will! You go through the agony and pain and struggle more. B. realize how futile your act is. You calm down and decide to try to think your situation over with a clear head. C. feel hopeless in your situation. Few tears drip from your eyes as you surrender and fall into a slumber. D. Other
c ... I'm just so weak and tired and even though I somehow feel I'm too cold to sleep, I can't help it and the sleep feels warm and like a safe rescue ..
