abuse of official power?

I wouldn't worry about it Acronoid. George is known to have a huge beef with Arkadia for a number of reasons. Some I know about directly, others I only know of secondhand after some investigating.

On the whole, with situations like this, its best to take anything said by anyone on the forums with a very big pinch of salt. People will post anything to support their side of the story but truth is ONLY the involved parties will ever know for sure what really happened and what was really said etc etc.

I have my own opinion on what I know and what I have learned, but that is for me to keep to myself and not cloud others opinions or influence another's point of view.

My advice, take no notice and just enjoy your own game

 

TBH having read most of the chat history (not all, I will need to consider I will die one day ;) ) I'm on the side of the Arcadia Official. To me it seems deliberately disruptive to gate crash an organised event, which you are not even taking part in, and try to encourage people to leave a planet instead of participating.

Actually I think if it were me who had put effort into something like that (and the official avatar is almost certainly someone who did some of the work behind Arcadia) I'd probably be fairly pissed off with Skywalker for doing so.

I'd actually say they were fairly lenient in how they dealt with the case.

Incidentally, would it be possible for someone in the know to briefly summarise what it is that Skywalker has against Arcadia? Or what events brought about such feelings?

 

the official was very polite and correct at first, just telling him not to disrupt the event, but he insisted to complain and talked about revenge, I wonder that the offical kept so calm and still asked him in the end what he wants offering different options a) get locked b) get moved to caly c) fly himself away from ark

for those who wonder about the 20 minute time frame - the offcial said that a few ppl have filed support cases

but of course if anyone who had no trouble with the ark team at all would post the same I guess there would be no chat with an official at all.

 

The 20 minute thing. Whoever it was was probably discussing appropriate actions with co workers before making a move

I can confirm that this is PART of it. I was directly involved in this and whilst I completely understood where George was coming from (and still do), the way things progressed meant that he had to be disqualified from the competition. It was after that that other things happened which resulted in him being permanently banned.

It wasn't.

Whilst I do know a large amount of the story directly, there are others parts that I've had relayed to me secondhand. As such, I cannot and will not comment further on information that I cannot personally confirm or refute.

Sufficed to say, that there are 2 sides to every story.

And, for the most part, I have tried my best to remain above it all and as neutral as possible.

I don't see any problems with this. Ace has a personal crusade with Arkadia (an example), and behaved like a spoiled brat here, to take revenge on his 'enemies'. The Official did, in my opinion, a very good job, and solved the situation in a quite civilized manner.

I have seen GM's, in other games, that would have muted him first, and temp-banned (at least) after this chat and his open confession of acting in malicious spirit ...
