  4. About the Game
In Planet Explorers, it is the year 2287, one of the first colony ships sent out by Earth arrives at the planet Maria, in the Epsilon Indi Star System. During its landing sequence, something appears in front of the massive ship that causes it to lose control and crash into the planet. Some of the colonists survive in lifeboats, but what they find is an unforgiving land filled with creatures ready to outlast the visitors from Earth. Now the survivors must explorer, gather, build, create, fight, and ultimately, build a new home.
    Game Modes
Planet Explorers will feature single and multiplayer modes.

In single player there are 3 distinct selections

    • Story Mode– Story mode is the main meat and bones of the game, it is the action-adventure-rpg-somewhat-4X segment, offering npcs, missions, colony building, farming, ranching, training, diplomacy, and of course, a storyline that you can follow or ignore. This story features a 17X8km world map with many unique character, landscapes, biomes, locations, and over 100 types of potential enemies. Even though we’ve made it seem like a very action oriented game in the trailers, in reality, players can choose to not fight so much as to just plant a farm, make some food, keep the colonists alive, negotiate with the sentient aliens, and defend the perimeter from the local life forms. That can still eventually arrive at the ending. And yes, there is an ending.
    • Adventure Mode– This mode is based on a procedural map generated from a seed. Currently, it comes in a 40X40 kilometer map. Players will be able to complete random missions, defeat bosses, and explore different landscapes in the mode and eventually be able to setup conditions that they want to play (such as tower defense or attack an alien camp). This mode will also feature survival gameplay. The randomization in this mode will eventually pull in player made objects and locations so that a world will always feature something new and unique.
    • Build Mode– In this mode, there are no enemies and an infinite amount of building material. It also currently comes in a 40X40km map. Players will be able to build whatever they want in this mode, including everything in the Creations Editor. Think of this as the perfect testing ground to test everything you build. Or…it’s your place to build your garden without ever worrying about the pesky aliens.

    Wistrel Kick Ass Elf

Cool! Glad to see the steam launch has got this game some more attention. I've been following them since before the kickstarter. When it launches fully, look out for Wistrel Chianti appearing somewhere in the game world in some form or another (I'm guessing it will be a big war memorial type thing or something)

  8. I have been playing on and off over past year... Mac got me into it.. This last patch has me hooked. I describe to everyone as Entropia meets Mindcraft! Mac has made some cool weapons and vehicles he has shared with me.. Calli is kickin butt ha ha.. The multiplayer is being worked on most recently in last patch.. but there is an extreme amount of content in the game, creative, story and building.. besides multiplayer.. and its still in alpha. It is so worth getting and the Devs in the Pathea forum communicate daily with the community. There are bugs as in any alpha but now that it is in Steam will be patched quite easily. If anyone wants more info and would like to add me in Steam you can find me under calliyosta aka calli (look for blue eyes icon) They are offering standalone version right from their website if you are not a steam fan.

  9. Hi Calli,

Yea just started to get into this game, loving it, it has huge and amazing potential to keep you occupied for many thousands of hours.

  10. Made this same post I made on FB................
I installed PE on Steam but I am so frustrated. I don't recall having this many issues last time I played. How you suppose to know which plants are which and how do you know if you can collect stuff from them and how do you collect stuff? Doing the first mission where it asked for materials for a juice. I click on the plants, nothing. I right click, nothing. When I hold down the right mouse then I get something but that isn't all the time. Do you have to look right at the plant or be right next to it? And the same thing with killing a mob, seems I need to get close enough for an icon to appear before I can kill it?? Also it seems that I am moving in slow mode/rubberbanding, is there a way to turn off the grass movement?

  11. http://planetexplorers.gamepedia.com/Planet_Explorers_Wiki this will help as far as identifying plants and animals
ISO sharing is a awesome site used for sharing the creations people have made.

https://www.facebook.com/groups/855003254516173/ group on Facebook few of us discussing and learning together.

First some links, anyone playing is welcome to join the fb group.
F2 toggles the camera.. try toggle and then walk up to the plants right near where gerdy is you should automatically collect it.
options in beginning before game loads allows you play in window mode if you choose. once your in game choose options again from menu and it offers you other options to tweak the settings and lower sounds etc.. there you can adjust for the grass .

  12. LOL at Entropia login issues.

Anyway totally loving this new game, I played a fair bit of the story line and got the hang of it and now have started designing my own player content starting with housing.

I am making 40X40 Marble houses using 138 marble blocks, 12,000 Durability.

I have started again in adventure mode and am in the midsts of planning my new marble city come graphite wall defenses hehe.

Here is a picture of me starting to dig out the landscape.

I am incorporating the starter town into the design :) To protect the little buggers lol

  13. I will pst my progress, though it may take a while to get it all done :)

  14. Ok, I dug up enough spare stone (which was not easy in adventure mode) to do the next section :)
Time for more digging as this stone section is only the entry way to the city I am designing lol

  15. Wistrel

    Wistrel Kick Ass Elf

Ohh thanks for the info on the links. I've still not properly played yet. I sorta just not been in the right place to put the time in but I might wait for the release. I mainly backed the project cause I believed in them and felt they were awesome enough to warrant continuing their work

  16. Hiyas,

Started Adventure mode again. Due to the immense size of the force field generator, I have dreamt up a new city concept, sub terrainian and above ground with farms and all :)

It will take a few days to gather resources for it, but will keep you posted on the lastest lol ;)

    Wistrel Kick Ass Elf

Epic! Sounds very ambitious... ha ha I think so far I made just a pointy stick ;)_

  19. I have been playing with the creator, finally figured out how to thin the edges with the feathering and removing voxel.. Mac has made some cool stuff. I am going to see what I come up with now lol.. I imported a texture and decals... So Im slowly learning it :P

  20. Hi,

Yesterday I pulled an 18hr gaming shift lol (With some small breaks inbetween ofc)

12Hrs of harvesting got me 10k wood and 10k stone along with a fair bit of plant fibre, rubber, resin and other resources you generally pickup in smaller quantities from doing ground node harvesting :)

6Hrs and roughly 30 stone shovels (Yes my tech level has not progressed very far yet) dug out the following :)
Today I will do roughly another 12 hrs of city development (lol digging and maybe some building).
