You can earn free PED's easy just by creating an account on this website EntropiaPartners and watching some videos !
Complete utter bullshit and I'm really sick of it. There are no free PED, something free for you means someone else is paying for it. Harassing other people by spamming affiliate links just to potentially put a few PEC in your very own pocket is plain selfish, absolutely greedy, simply disgusting. I wish MindArk would finally terminate this shit, once and for all. But, on the contrary, they seem to join the idiocy...
It's gonna get worse when the 'offical' affiliate program comes in to being in the coming months/years.
I agree that spamming Forum boards and chat channels with your affiliate link is thoughtless douche baggary, (especially when done in the above manner.) but thats why you have Mods right? I am a fan of the two websites that i am familiar with that operate their GPT programs within the Entropia Universe.TBH I even handle payouts for one of them. (I make 1% FYI) I'll Tell you also from the other side of the wall that the player base often makes more off of these sites then the owners in most cases. Advertising makes the web go round, and when a webmaster shares the adrevenue with the end user every body wins. I do wish though that more Entropian Entrepreneurs were interested in advertising outside of the game, you would then see sites like this one (my favorite EU Site BTW) and others being more successful (I promise I'll by a membership eventually) With the website that I offer my assistance to as a payout rep they use a simple PTC wall plus third party "offer providers". These offer providers pay the webmaster a commission based on the number of "offers" completed by the user base, who in turn receive their cut. That payment comes once a month and most often after the end user has redeemed their in site-balance for their reward, The site I work with opened august 2013 and has paid out 18487.70 ped to the community, I also know the webmaster is at a loss at this point, as most of that amount has been generated via third party providers and not in house advertising which would be more profitable for everyone involved. So other than the douche baggery of people thinking spam = successful promotion i find these to be beneficial enough to just ignore the spam like i do all in game adverts for land areas i cant afford to hunt/mine at :P The service that the OP/spammer was promoting operates primarily around a "watch video earn points" typed thing where-in all the videos are either tutorials for the games they pay out to or promotional "how to's" for the service made by the user of said service. In all honesty i don't know how they monetize it. They also have them old Turks tasks or Crowdflower whatever they are called and have recently launched some type of "investment" market modeled in similar fashion to CLD's. As an aside If/When MA incorporates an affiliate marketing system for EU do you think you will be seeing THAT referral link spammed on this forum or in game? that would be kind of redundant wouldn't it? To each their own, I say. If you can think of a better way to support the player base by cutting their cost to play and also bring more PED into the game to support the market/devs please implement it and send me your promotional link so i can share it with everyone i know
it is not the affiliate link that is a problem for me, I had 2 in my signature for a long time and there is an article on here by Wistrel that explains what the different sites do and has an affiliate link in it, But creating an account and spamming your link in the first post you make is plain wrong, and I really wonder if the one that makes the threads actually thinks it will stay up for very long.
Totally agree, In this case it is especially dumb as this website is/was in fact advertised on at least one of said programs. Perhaps their need to be an etiquette thread posted to their forums... I personally have been using Various GPT programs to fund my play since i started playing EU, but you wont see me spamming referall links except to those who ask how they can make PED (and i always use a URL shortner so the the link isnt ugly :P) as the days are gone when new players could support their play off of sweat alone or find work as taggers and the like. These new(ish) entropia Based ones (IMHO) are gold. If anything these programs help keep new players playing longer before they hit the PAYWALL when they hit the level of DEPO or DIE. Should they breech proper protocol and etiquette (such as the OP did) THEY should be flamed and taught the error of their ways. I dont think it's right that the programs themselves become the subject of disdain unless they merit it.
yep, definitely a catch .22 I love that there are more options for people to 'play for free' but those options usually bring in a younger or more immature crowd (obviously not all, but as a 'stereotype') which do not understand etiquette of trying to sell a hamburger to a guy with a steak on his plate.
I know I keep saying it (bad Wistrel) but I really should do a follow up article on Ent Part and finish the on on ped2click. I don't know which link was posted here but I believe the owner of EntPart has a sort of rudimentary spam discouragement system. Not sure how that works exactly (one for the follow up) but I think if you let her know, about a perp then "something" will be done.
For me the issue with these kind of "deals" is that it's all eventually equating to pennies. I have a full-time job as well as run my own company, and if a game requires me to spend so much that the thought of having to perform mundane tasks in order to save a few bucks seems like a good idea, there's a plain and simple conclusion: The game is too darn expensive. I've certainly stopped spending money in EU, and discovered that for a fraction of what I used to spend, I now actually can find entertainment for far longer (if I manage to find the time). If I now can only liquidate the rest of my items and skills, I'll happily uninstall EU and never look back again.
As far as 'free peds' go... only way to really get em is to do starter missions in game, pick up sweat, pick up dung, pick up fruit, or pick up oil on a planet that has an oil rig that does not require you to take a toxic shot before entering. Slightly more than free peds can be earned through buying CLDS or AUDs - not exactly 'free' but they are the only way to make a residual income in game without spending a ton on decay (although your initial investment will take a long time to come back to you -4-20 years likely if not longer, depending on roi, if you sell out before you get 100% you paid in to the deeds, etc.). There are other ways in game to gain income, but many of those require a much higher learning curve and potential loss risk that's a bit higher than what I've mentioned here... well, except for maybe buying stuff at TT prices and then selling it for more, but even that has major risk involved since it will take you a long while to find a buyer most of the time.
Well, once Project Entropia was a nice place to hang out. I didn't care much about PED far in the past. I deposited $15 per month regulary, later $250 per month. I never ever hoped to earn money from it. Vice versa: I paid for exciting fun and entertainment. But the game turned into a worthless one for me. I sell out. First rate of withdraw yesterday: 50k PED. That's at least kinda benefit ;-)
There's a wiki page comparing methods for making PED: http://www.entropiaplanets.com/wiki/About_Making_Money_in_Entropia_Universe Could have even more info though.
