All possible "Loot Cycles"

Discussion in 'General Entropia Universe Discussion' started by McCormick, Aug 20, 2014.

  1. All possible loot cycles & YOU.
I experienced all of them over the last 10 years.

    winloosepe.jpg

Let me become R4tt3xx for a minute :
These cycles apply to all of you. A random generator decides it
while logging in. A relog wont help here (anymore).
(Yes, there were times, when you globaled, instantly logged out and in again,
the same mob would appear again in front of you and you would recieve a very good loot at least,
    but no always another global.)

Usually you do not know how long a cylce stays active.
    It can change on :
mob switch, item switch, location switch
or it can change when you expect it the least. ;)
But not on a relog (anymore).

    The random generator
    will consider the ratio between
your total playtime and your total amount of deposits/withdrawals as well
(A long pause sometimes helped to recieve good loot again,
people claimed. But that was so rare, that I dont take it into consideration.)

There can be other values involved as well. :p

    But enough of R4tt3xx : ;)

    Time is money.
Loosing/investing 600 PED in 2,5 minutes would usually be
a good choice to change the cycle. Feel free to se this post :

    I felt beeing close to enter cycle-state "F.) - 2"
and failed dramaticlly in the end anyway.

Because crafting always felt more like :
    crafting.gif

In times of trapping, you could kill mobs very fast
as you did not have to heal yourself.
The cycles seemed to be affected by
"kill (economically) without need to heal yourself / not getting hit by the mobs (too often)".

While someone with uber evade skills
and a very high damage-per-second weapon,
    or an uber mining tool,
should probably be able to achieve a state close to the above,
I remember people having 4k evade back in 2005,
complaining about how "useless" that amount in combat usually felt.

MindArk added "critical hits", that influence the above state even more.

You can be noob you can be uber.
    Every cycle can hit you.

Sometimes a loot cycle seems to take "forever"
and as you dont know when it will end,
    the only hope left is...
...the hope, to finally enter another cycle,
    while you keep playing/depositing.

    The people of cycle-state "F.) - 2"
    may now speak. ;)

    By the way :
    Good luck, you'll need it ! ;)

So McC we used to talk about how (in young PE) a person who deposited would have a better chance of a ATH then someone who didn't. We came close to providing at least a 80% proof of the event. All my ATHs and large towers came within 1 day of a deposit back then. Plus we were working on a theory that brought in the casino method of its not how much you bring in the building.. its how much you run thru the machines.

Had you (or anyone) ever thought of or agreed/disagreed about it.

and for after the new engine it seemed like my loot went down after a deposit.

  5. Hmmmm...all these posts and this is the first post (well, ok, not the first) that is starting to make some sense about you missing the old pre-10 days of EU having all the easy ways to exploit the game.

  6. Just some simple examples, combined with some questions :
(I hope you got time to answer them, because I dont want to interrupt your show)

1.) Did you know, MindArk itself announced "trapping" as a great opportunity for hunters ?
But as the mob-AI was (still is) so f*cking bad, MindArk decided that trapping would become an exploit, because nearly everybody did trap around that time.
Of course you did not gain defense/evade skills while trapping, which eventually messed up your whole skill-tree.

2.) Did you know it actually took f*ucking ages to skill from 1999 skill points to 2000 skill points in 2004, because of skill barriers, that existed ? Did you ever try to go from 2999 to 3000 back then ? Any idea of the ammo/PEDs that needed to be fired/invested to go up 1 simple skill point ?

Then MindArk removed this skill barrier and everybody could reach 2000 skill points in no time.

3.) Did you know people grabbed a FAP-5, enabled their autoclicker and put themself in front of a 5-damage mob, to gain unlimited medical and defense skills ? It wasnt considered an exploit for a long time, because it seemed to be totally okay. Until MindArk decided to "ban" autoclickers...just to introduce... autoclickers....and super-heavily reduce the amount of skills you could gain from 1 mob while healing yourself in front of it.
Same counts for scanning. While people decayed scanner after scanner, to gain scanning skills...this profession just turned into useless, as you only recieve 1 skill (if you actually get it, that is) from 1 mob within 3 minutes. )

4.) Did you know we even had healing ponds, that were actually healing your avatar when standing in there ?

5.) Did you know that mobs already fought each other back in 2003/2004 ?

That should be enough for now, as Im really eager to read your next accusation of why I loved the past. x'D

    • Thanks Thanks x 1
  7. I tried to explain everything up there. Best I could do.
If you have read my link under "Time is money", you would see that Id already agree.

-run a lot through the machine will bring back "a lot" CHECK!
(you can even ATH, but you can also fail dramatically...even if you continue.)
-Back then I experienced non-depositers, that did very very well. CHECK!
(today I dont. Even long time sweaters do at least deposit once these days, if they want to continue, that is...
...usually non-depositors arent worth beeing mentioned, regarding "I made a lot of $")

Lets not talk about resellers here for now. xP

-Non depositors usually did never ATH CHECK!
(if anyone can prove the opposite, go for it. If you cant, dont try it)

-Depositing after loosing, could bring back (partly/double) the money you lost/invested/cycled before,
loosing/cycling/investing it all again in the end...but usually you had to deposit even more, to get back, what you tried to get back already...and so on CHECK!
(I usually experienced "ok" up-to "good" returns after depositing...sometimes it felt like "that you bought your global"...the global that didnt deserve any gratz imho, because you lost/cycled too much already anyway. But hell yes, globals felt good, even if you lost/cycled a lot already) xP
(But it also happened that a deposit was gone in no time...because, obviously, I did everything with the wrong items at the wrong time at the wrong area) ;)

Entropia is the most expensive MMO in the world, if you are really addicted, want to level up and enjoy all the professions or if want to compete with the so called ubers in combat, mining or crafting.
Sweating is not enough to achieve the above.(but once it was)

Back then I was proud to be part of it, I was talking about it whenever I could and it always made people gather around you and listen to the interesting&crazy world of "Project Entropia".

I would no longer recommend this MMO Casino to other people.

  8. Yes I did and a lot do as well due to the issues back then and mostly MA trying to get new players into game while loosing a LOT of money in doing so..then they had to try and make it profitable for them and all the free bees started crying. But yes..it's ok. We love hearing about the past and the good old days when all could be done. It's called getting old we all do it. :)

Now this would be cool to have back. But then again, a lot would cry about them. You know you would..you would if they brought them back..you know you would.

(players then wouldn't need fappers and well, you would cry about it)

  9. While you talk about 2009 and upwards, when writing, "By that time" I am talking about 2003-2008.

You write "You did (know)" but you probably are totally unaware of the timeframes here,
    just continuing with your show.

In 2009 the problems really started, OZtwo.
But you just do your show and I hope you appreciate it,
that I dig out all the info all the time, to make you remember and understand.
(still you just continue with your anti-retro-show...whatever your intention is)

If you might have missed my blog, here it is, which clearly states:
"MindArk fails to retain identity since 2009". Just in case.

Im clearly talking about the years 2003 to 2008 here, OzTWO.
    Do you understand ?

    Why am I talking about 2003-2008 ?
Because mobs could no longer be trapped since early 2006.
Healing Ponds were no longer working around 2006.
The skill barrier also got removed around/or even before 2006.

You did not know that, it seems, but Ill forgive you. Once more.

And as a fat bonus, I present to you, the annual report of 2008 :
(please, look at it and dont just continue with your show this time, or do you really wanna make me cry ? x'D)

    margin.png

A "company" usually needs 5% to maintain growth, unless the business has a customer base that consistently returns for more "products".

While supermarkets, for example, have around 1%-2%, which is totally normal.
Supermarkets survive, because their entire business model hinges upon customers returning.
    http://smallbusiness.chron.com/considered-normal-profit-margin-20036.html

Activison Blizzard is around 31% right now.
(which means 0,31$+ on any earned $ btw...after paying employees'n stuff)

-So, everything was cool and MindArk bought a castle in germany (195.000 Euro)

-Renovated it for another 1.150.000 Euros.

-MindArk established their...subsidiary in Mexico, called Illunova
434.000 $ were announced as cost in the annual report of 2007 to keep Illunova up& running

    -New server-park (318.000 $)

-Exhibition Stand (5 year plan) for Germany, Los Angeles and Las Vegas (405.000 $)
(those stands were a joke though and only hardcore entropia fans (like me) could be seen, all day long, while some lost souls managed to enter the stands and played a little on the "demo accounts" and had absolutley no idea what the fook was going on...so they left the stand with this impression)

-MindArk wanted to start a reallife bank in 2009, called MindBank, but failed to secure the required fundings of 5.000.000 Euro. Uh oh...we have reached 2009.

-The CryEngine 2 (license) finally entered our universe, which isnt cheap, trust me.
But MindArk wanted to be the 1st, no matter the cost.

Feel free to re-visit my thread about "Active Players - Accounts - Forum Accounts : All Date Here".
New players decreased "suddenly"... in 2009.

While usually around 160.000 players joined each year since 2005,
after the end of 2008 only 60.000 joined per year and MindArk also stopped publishing numbers of new and active accounts.

    No money, no honey.

OZtwo, the stage is yours !

  10. I guess EU is going to hell but for the most part all due to what MA has to do due to the players more than MA itself since MA had to remove a lot of the items due to user exploiting these cool features..including the ponds where one could just stand it in all day long doing nothing but skilling for nothing to then turn around and sale it for a profit.

Reminds me of a little thing Arkadia did a while back and is currently really pissed off about it all. It's kind of funny in a sad way to go to the events and have the Arkadia reps yelling at everyone about it...And that is that they had this great idea where they would heal all who would go to this cool event. Was was really a great idea (pond) but soon people just showed up to stand around and let the mobs attack them while they went afk. This of course gave them a hell of a lot of skills and killed the dream for others since the A-Team soon had to stop healing for all. So yes, a lot of what we had was removed..but had to be removed due to the ease in which it could be exploited. I miss the healing really at the Arkadia events and am kind of pissed that they had to stop. Am I pissed at MA for this? LOL..no, I'm pissed at the players for this.

So yes, again, a lot of cool stuff has been removed from game but sorry to say had to be.

So I give you this to focus on..For all items MA has removed through out the years, please tell how each and everyone could be exploited to make a profit?

Also one other small item you keep of forgetting to put in about EU's sky falling is the over all world's economy . Last I heard we are more or less going into yet one more, if not the biggest ever seen depression that a lot kind of are looking the other way but it is happening.

  11. 1st of all, "Generic Skill Implants" got intoduced while all of the above got removed.

People could not know that "Generic Skill Implants (now ESI)" would come as a feature one day.
People skilled up this way back then, to become...uhm..."better".

Also, let me re-list the things of above, with even more things added.
In 2006 MindArk was starting to waste all their money "on stuff", it seems :

    2006
    -German castle + renovation (sold)
    -New server park (yay)
-Exhibition stand 5 year plan (stopped?)
    -Illunova, Mexico (closed)
-Cash Card (partly introduced-put on hold / canceled)
-Contract with "NEOVIA Financial" as CashCard partner (canceled?)
    -Massive Ads contracted (shutdown)

    2007
    -Pawnshops got introduced >_<
-CryEngine 2 got selected (yay) -_-

    2008
-MindArk created a "moon-demonstration" for the NASA...and failed
-MindArk then contracted "Project Whitecard", who won the NASA contest,
to create the "mobile app" virtual tycoon

    Then 2009 arrived :
    -CryEngine 2 about to arrive
    -"European Space Agency" Deal failed
-MA decided to "team up" with SEE Virtual Worlds and failed
-MA decided to sell Crystal Palace
    -Taming got removed
-Hangars and shuttles became useless (space introduced)
-New accounts turned down from 160.000+ per year (since 2005),
    to about 50.000+ per year
