I seem to be doing a thread like this every year and every year it is a few days after my EU birthday and this year is no different. So at 20 December 2014 my avatar turned 10 years old. That mean I started my EU life on December 20th 2004, which seems a long time ago, well it actually is. I always have to figure out if I wanna reflect on my life in EU or just the past year and since the reflection of my life is in a few other threads already I'll stick to the last year. So, what happened in EU the past year? Well one thing we got was Planet Toulan, the Arabian planet made by our friends at Beladcom. The planet looks very nice (love the rain) but as with most new planets a bit empty after the novelty wears off. Rocktropia shrank, well ND took out a few servers and cramped the rest into the remaining ones. Have not been there this year, so no idea what it actually looks like, but I do hear some good things about it, so maybe it turns out to be a good move from ND. There are of course also the usual big loots that MA used to advertise the game one of them being the 7.100 dollar loot from an Eomon witch they killed with swords, LIKE VIKINGS! We also got creatures controlled by players this year. We already got a sneak peak from some MA officials and not long after that we were able to control a few by taking a pill. Next Island, well not exactly sure what I said about that last year, but I suppose it was about the same as this year, basically that there is nothing to say about it. Compets, well a mobile app where you need to buy deeds for, or something ?! Well I actually have no clue about this, so not much to say. Cyrene pulled a Rocktropia and also downsized the planet, which to be honest was not very nicely executed, but since then stuff has changed and I hear it has become a bit better. Arkadia went the Calypso road and released their underground deeds. The owners of these will share in 5% of the earnings on that area. In the beginning those went pretty fast, but after the ROI on them was not really what was expected the sales went down and so did the MU. This mean not all of them have sold yet. Possibly the most anticipated thing in the history of PE and EU (well maybe a good 2nd after The Egg) is the return of taming. MA introduced a multi step program of re-introducing it and we have pets running around on all planets now http://www.entropiaplanets.com/threads/entropia-universe-stable-estates.11598/ Then we also had MM Happy Mayham, Oratan attacks on Arkadia, Migration, Zombie Kong and of course at the end of the year the big ticked item for MA, which this year are Quads, which are red and have hyperdrives and cost 25.000 PED ! Thats about what happend in EU in 2014 (all from the top of my head, so stuff will have been forgotten for sure). And what about me, what have I done in 2014, well, not much to be honest. Spend most my time on Arkadia and a litttle on both Calypso and Cyrene. I have deposited just once and hunted a bit mainly on Arkadia. Got a few globals and thats it. Other then that I did a bit of work here on EP, both on the forum and on the wiki, the result of which you can see all around EP. So that's 2014 in a nutshell, let me know what you did in 2014.
Elo, june 2004 here. 10 years is indeed, uhm, special for an MMO. ;) zOmg ! You forgot to mention Warren Buffet ! Arkadia is a nice designed world. I was there. I liked it. But returned to Calypso. I forgot about Cyrene, Rocktropia and Next Island already. Sad but true. Havent even been to Toulan. What I read about those lately was enough info already. Diversity has left the servers. MindArk never knew what they had in their hands and I do know about their e-commerce (3d ebay) plans of 1999. Entropia trys to be everything these days, but Entropia. CLDs ? As you are no longer the owner, but the holder of it, never knowing when the game will shut down, knowing, how long "cash outs" can take, knowing, that noone will buy your stacks of CLDs when MA finally announces the end... Underground deeds ? 0.00 to 0.01 PED per day 3 PED per year = 15 years until you get back the approx. 43 PED you paid Nice idea, but Entropia is and always will be...(too) small. Other then that, Im still here as well. But Im playing for free, which is smoothing my ingame life alot. Imagine how I would complain, beeing one of those steady big time depositors/investors, with no chance ever getting it all back out of the game... ;) But yes, if you can afford it and love it, feel free to continue. Congrats Razer! A milestone to be sure. What a good reflection of the year past, seems to me that quite a lot has changes when you put it all on one page. Hopefully more exciting installments on the way in 2015. :)
Happy 10 years RAZER ... I am 3 months and some days after you on April 2nd, which will become my 10th. While I no longer engage in activity inside EU, and I have sold off everything, MindStar9 still exists with all of her skills, clad in black slacks, black shirt, black Fedora with a special design band by Kitten, white Pop tennis shoes, and of course her white Angel Wings. Oh, and I can't forget about the special purple lace undergarments that Kitten made as well, but that's about it. It blows my mind to know and care about so many of you for so long, and that's why my shadow stays near.
