In my few months of playing EU I've 'heard' a few posts etc on auto clickers - and my questions are what exactly are auto clickers, how does one use them in conjunction with EU and most importantly, how do they give such an advantage - what is all the fuss about auto clickers in general. For the record, I do not obviously use AC's as I don't know much about them.
I have the same question. Thx for bringing this up nexus7! I hope someone from the ubers will be kind enough to answer that. I think however that those programs might be a little...just a little...illegal. Of course, I know nothing about them so I'm probably all wrong, hehe :hehe:
As far as I know they just keep clicking the mouse for you. This is probably most beneficial when you have to stand in one place pressing a button lots. Crafting or large mining deposits spring to mind.
Pretty much Erach. The clever ones will repeat a sequence of clicks, movements or keypresses. The idea was you could skill more easily by leaving your pc running EU, constantly 'clicking' to heal, manufacture etc. The conspiracy theorists will tell you that the ubers in the game got a few k skills this way, but MA have gradually closed all the loopholes. For instance, being in houses in PVP zonez it was possible to log on 2 avatars, one hitting the other healing, and skill them both up that way. Generally you will find most players won't use them - mainly because whatever happens you still have to put in the PED, but otherwise just because they are 'honest' players. Personally I think the only 'acceptable' use was for crafting, where there really is no fun in the skilling, but since residue was introduced then things are different again. So, is it worth getting one? Not really - the never ending quest for high skills is over-rated in my opinion anyhow. But then I've just been overtaken by my most recent disciple so you could just say I'm lazy LOL
Not to interrupt your conversation but MA has said that the use of auto clickers is in direct violation of the EULA and anyone caught using one will have their account locked. So use at your own risk but does not seem worth it to me.
Not so much a conspiracy theory, just basic well known fact that some of the current highly skilled players boosted their skills by using auto-clickers. MA's clumsy response was to slow down the skilling process, so now ALL of us pay the penalty of slower and more expensive skilling. There is no acceptable use for an auto-clicker. Real crafters, hunters, miners, press the mouse or keys for themselves. Users of autoclickers simply show their greed and lack of respect for the game and for other real players. MA quite rightly locks the accounts of people caught using auto-clickers. Some members of my previous society regularly used auto-clickers and were quite outspoken about using them. It is interesting to note that at least two of those people have QUIT playing, because they never really "got" what playing EU is about. If you need an auto-clicker to play EU for you, then you may as well uninstall EU, as the game has already beaten you. :Beaten:
Any where do you find 'em? hanging around the rig popping PK's at noobs who bravely made their way through the uber-mobs to try and get some experience and maybe a little oil. Hope they're enjoying themselves
Yes at the rig, or at revive posts auto healing/fap/focusing, or at the healing ponds auto-healing ( except that is now gone so all legitimate players cannot use the ponds to heal now either ), or at crafting machines all over Eudoria, or using macros when hunting to cycle gun and fap. The only honourable thing for them to do is throw themselves under the crafting machines, as shown in this pic.
Many thanks to all sry for late reply... Well I guess that answers all my queries on A C's. I can posssibly see the advantage of using AC's in crafting, or healing/fapping - but generally I have to say I don't see what the real advantage is, the game will still cost you just as much and I don't see how using AC's will get you bigger loots, which presumably is the whole point - and yeas i know they r illegal but I wouldnt use one anyway..
Which ones?In any case, Is it only a guess? "Your purpose is the record he or she do not obviously use AC's as he or she do not know much about them" answers all my queries on A C's I can posssibly see the advantage of using AC's in crafting or healingfapping - but generally I have to say I do not see what the real advantage is the game will still cost you just as much and I do not see how using AC's will get you bigger loots which presumably is the whole point - and yeas i know they r illegal but I would not use one ? I get Your purpose is the record he or she do not obviously use AC's as he or she do not know much about them.
You're right, I dont use them and I dont know much about them, I was only going by the replies. So, can you get AC's that will 1) Target a mob, 2) shoot the mob till it is dead, 3) loot the mob (if there is any) - and then repeat this sequence endlessly? You can do that almost manually anyway.
You can indeed do that manually - it is called playing the game. :D ps: -rep to Talkerbot for speaking about A/C. tsk tsk Miss Talkerbot. :p
Yea - I like the pic as well. Maybe he/she (well, you can't go by what the AV looks like as I've found out..) got attacked by a mob lurking underneath the floor:Beaten:
Hi just my 2 pence worth I do not use Auto Clickers however I am intreaged as to how MM would now if someone was ussing one surley if i am stood nr a TP skilling up my scan skill then i would be repeatedly clicking my mouse or short key, if I was using an auto clicker then how would they know ? Skilling up on your scaner skill would be the only thing i can think of that you would want to use a auto key thanks Mike
There are things ingame that compellingly indicate a person is using an autoclicker. When logfiles and screenshots are sent to MA by concerned players, MA can then investigate the matter further and it may lead to the autoclicker having their account(s) locked and losing all of their items and skills. To quote a wise person who posted this on another forum "IMHO If you cant play the game in its own program and need outside assistance, then the game has already beaten you."
