How do globals/hofs come around is it completely randomn or just preset in mobs that have been spawned. My theory is that each mob is specially preset for a specific avatar so with the higher skills the more chance of getting a big loot. The loots are out there you just have to be the one looting it. What are your thoughts??
Re: 2007-08-18 - Randomn or sequence? Hi Milky, This is one of the *big* EU questions, and like RL big questions there are only really theories and observations, not solid facts. This isn't by accident, as MA keep these secrets VERY well guarded, and often change balances and rules. We have some very good threads on this topic in the forum, I've located 3 of them for you so you may want to start reading here. http://www.eu-chronicle.com/showthread.php?t=2925 http://www.eu-chronicle.com/showthread.php?t=2903 http://www.eu-chronicle.com/showthread.php?t=2603 Other than that you will find literally HUNDREDS of threads on the same topic on EntropiaForum (if you really have the time to read all the ramblings of a thousand randoms). The best answer though is to pair up with some good mates, go hunting, chat about what you find and generally enjoy yourself - don't worry too much about the loot because it's not the be-all and end-all of Entropia ;)
I've asked myself the same and I'm thinking it could be a bit of both. Getting globals/HOF's or just getting any loot at all as such from a mob or from mining is random - you've killed the right mob at the right time in the right place or you've dropped a bomb/probe in the right place at the right time. It could also be partly preset for each AV based on how much ammo, bombs/probes one has baught and repair costs, etc, as this generates the economy - just like in RL, you need money to make it. However there are no guarantees that more ammo; better equipment; higher skills; etc, will get you either better loot or loot more often from harder mobs or from using better mining gear. Those that get huge globals/HOFs have probably just covered their costs anyway...
I am curious as to why MA decided not to give out PED anymore I first started playing in 2005 and then had a break for a while, I have been playing again for a while now but you only seem to get items most of them junk that you then need to take to the TT terminal as most of it is not work putting in the Auction, recently after buying a lesser TP chip I now seem to get all sorts of chips medi nerve blast etc, anyone know why they stopped dropping peds? Mike
IIRC they said it made the loots 'more realistic' as you hardly expect wild animals to be carrying currency, but oils etc. might be something you would genuinely expect to harvest from your kill. To listen to the conspiracy theorists, they changed it so you didn't notice how bad the loots became in that VU ;)
Didn't some people suggest it was relating to gambling regulations? They're not giving you money directly this way, so it's not quite the same as gambling...
Yes I thought this also. I don't think MA have ever given a clear reason for removing peds from loots, but I think the changes to gambling laws had a lot to do with it.
Hmm - with the whole TT value thing is seems hard to seperate loot from cash. Perhaps this is some sort of little semantics dance to get around regulations? Maybe a lot more reading on EF needed in my case
